Re: Haly Cycling

The responses above are quite the contrary Hector. You may know that this may be the case but based on the responses above clearly suggest that it was not possible at all to cycle a hally when this is very much untrue. Weapon cycling in its current form may not be era accurate at the moment but that...

Re: Equipping while casting

Kaivan and I have already developed a combat timer that looks very promising. We are just waiting for Derrick to review the code/algorithm and compare it to what he already has that we know is not right. The current system has multiple problems that are already known to be inaccurate such as not hol...

Re: Haly Cycling

We have thoroughly discussed this patch note(including the explanation of the note that FishinPro posted that was originally written on Markee's Dargon's website) and it has nothing to do with the ability to hally cycle. This patch note was slightly over 20 days after the insta hit patch went live. ...

Re: Equipping while casting

Highly unlikely that was ever the case Hector. The information presented today increased the mounting evidence towards the equip casting mechanic. Take a look at the timeline... 1998 May/June - Equip casting existed. 2000 Sept/Oct - Equip casting existed. 2001 July - Equip casting existed and finall...

Re: Equipping while casting

Ok, so until evidence can be produced it's pretty much that we have to go under the assumption that the pre-casting removal patch changes were removed and that you could drag/lift/equip items with a spell target cursor Post-UOR... please correct me if I am wrong? However, despite this assumption it ...

Re: Equipping while casting

What about scrolls? My pure mage has the following skills: Eval Int, Magery, Meditation, Resist, Swords, Tactics, Wrestling. Inscription is a good skill to have for 2 reasons. First, it's a good source of income. Second, you do not equip your spellbook when casting from a scroll. Very useful for pvp...

Re: Equipping while casting

We could amount more evidence but it's starting to look pretty obvious if you ask me. Demo - Equip casting existed. Post UOR - Equip casting existed. Pre UOR Precasting - Equip casting existed. UOR Precasting - Equip casting does not exist with a specific clause stating it was removed. The source do...

Re: Equipping while casting

Please leave this discussion up to intellectual minds that are capable of connecting the dots. Your post had no relevance to this discussion and simply reiterated previous known concepts that have been posted in this thread along with many others. Pretty sure Kaivan will conclude the reseach after m...

Re: Equipping while casting

Ignoring the waste of bandwidth one post above and getting back to the real discussion. With a shield equipped, and the book unequipped you can chug potions, and use bandages, making you very hard to kill. Not to mention you can precast somewhat with a shield. For example you can EQUIP THE SHIELD WH...

Re: Equipping while casting

Completely agree with your comment Kaivan. That is why these two questions were presented earlier on my behalf. Did the UOR publish simply remove the previous restriction for dragging items with an active spell target? How can you "pre-cast" with a shield outside of the casting animation b...

Re: Equipping while casting

While there are several questions that probably still need to be answered, the implication is that these systems are separate systems. The old code to prevent pre-casting and equipping a weapon is unnecessary when a spellbook is automatically equipped when you begin casting a spell. This is not nec...

Re: Equipping while casting

While I don't see the relevance to us, this is something that is supported by the UOR notes. This would be highly relevant to us when combining the Pre-Cast removal and UOR patch. Pre-casting The bug involving the ability to “pre-cast” spells and then use or take items will be fixed. After casting ...

Re: Equipping while casting

- Update - See bolded font for information. Go with the standard 5: GM Magery GM Med GM EI GM Wrestling GM Resist And last two is what'll make your char special.. Some take anatomy-healing (defensive mage) But the other options are: - Poisoning (strengthen the poison spell, used alot nowadays in Pv...

Re: Pre-T2A (Vanilla) UO rules...

Kaivan is correct. Was unable to out run the arrow animation but it was still possible to avoid the shot by being out of range. There was still a significant delay (longer than the demos) for state one. Also, let me rephrase my previous post. The second state was not modified but the first state(mov...
