Re: Anyone play Lake Superior?
Recognize a few names here from LS. Although it's a long shot because my cousin and I were pretty much solo players on the shard, does anyone remember a Klimb or Krawl?

Re: What happened to the events? Derrick can we get them bac
This gets brought up in EVERY "can we have events back?" thread. The fact of the matter is automated events are always on time and are always more efficient than player run events - they can be relied upon. Player run events on the other hand take a lot of effort for someone to put togeth...

Re: What happened to the events? Derrick can we get them bac
Player run events aren't illegal. If the players say there is a problem with the lack of events, perhaps the players should start running them.
Automated events focus the population, both in time and place, which leaves the rest of the day and playing area deserted.

Re: The elephant in the shard.
It has been a long time since I've logged into this shard. It has also been a long time since I've checked the forums and I'm surprised you are still keeping up the battle for this, Hemperor. The main reason I haven't been involved has been because of the automated and stale nature of this shard. I'...

Re: T2A Accuracy: Progress and Discussion
Don't call it social engineering, call it the gods favouring the pious ones. Start encouraging players who benefit the shard as whole. Not all rewards have to be material...

Re: Is fencing nerfed on this shard?
It's cool to not do what everyone else does. Fencing is viable if you really want it to be. You may have to fight differently than you would with a sword for it to be effective, but then again, fencing is different than swords in the first place.

Re: Is fencing nerfed on this shard?
Depends on if you simply want to kill people. Fencing is pretty over-powered in terms of looking bad-ass.

Re: Events...Accuracy vs. Policy
Automated events is a symptom. They are here because there are not enough industrious players putting on events themselves, and because they are here, nobody feels the need to step up to the task of creating an event that people will go to. Yes, there have been player-run events on this shard, but o...

Re: Limit Client Connections
Edit: All I'm saying is that you're presenting this issue as "Limit connections per IP, problem solved", when it's not really that simple. What I'm saying is "Limit connections per ip, problem less of a problem." Yes, it's more complicated, people will do quite a lot to circumve...

Re: Limit Client Connections
The problem is that multiple connections are already allowed, therefore no one sees a problem in having multiple clients. The assumption that limiting the clients to one or two would make more work for the admins is absolutely wrong and unfounded. It's like smoking pot in the Netherlands. It's legal...

Re: Limit Client Connections
The benefits of such a change would far outweigh the odd annoyance here and there of an admin allowing reasonable, or temporary, exceptions to the rule. The few who would be allowed multiple connections could be granted a 3 month probationary period, in which the admins could keep a close eye on the...

Re: SHOULD EVENTS BE REMOVED OR LIMITED
Automated events are an anomaly on this shard. They detract from the actual game by deterring players from the normal content, siphoning them off of the map, and destroying the atmosphere of the game.
Ultima Online is supposed to have real risk, real reward, and most importantly, real consequences.

Re: T2A Accuracy: Progress and Discussion
I think we need quests. There was a few quests around in t2a and besides we have scavenger hunt. We need more RPG-type quests that you can get from various NPC's and have to travel around collecting or doing certain things. Slaying a monster type ect. The more quests the better, we need more things...

Re: T2A Accuracy: Progress and Discussion
I've thought recently about what could be done to further the T2A feel of the shard and what I've realized is it is entirely up to the community. The social structure is the biggest factor in recreating the atmosphere, so any encouragement to build communities within the shard are most likely a good...
