Updated List of Brokers.

Post by GuardianKnight »

THIS IS A VERY OLD POST WITH OUTDATED INFORMATION:

Looks like these are the active brokers lately:
Blackfoot : UoH *uses character Cobalt for brokering*
GuardianKnight : UoH
Halogen: TC* (Guildmaster) (uses character Darktower)

Kelektra seems to be doing quite a few trades lately and i have had a few run ins with this person. So far seems to be a trustworthy person. Would really like the help as of late. Our main brokers are all MIA.

Tabius, Wise: where are you? killin us, guys.

Why don't you make a sub forum in the trading forum called Brokers. Everyone who wants to be/is a broker should just start a post with their name. Feed back for specific brokers could be added there and people doing trades wont have to sift through multiple threads reading page after page of posts to see if a broker can be trusted. I think it would be much more efficient than making new threads every few months.

It's a good idea for sure but i bet it could be exploited a bit easily. I imagine only a few people would use that section of the forum and scammers would take advantage of that and have their friends create feedback to basically set someone up to steal something big.

Ive personally used Blackfoot, GuardianKnight, Tabius and Halogen as brokers.

Each one of these guys are trustworthy upstanding players of the highest caliber.

He was in IRC several days ago, home sick from work  Wise is still working on his computer.

I'm sure in a pinch Brules or I could broker a deal in their stead.

You can always include me in there...

No one ever does though. Pretty sure I've dealt more in millions of gold than a few names on that list.

I have a brokering suggestion.........

Bonded brokers.

Basically either BF or GK would be the holder of the bonds and by becoming bonded you can do transactions up to a certain limit.

So if I bond myself with a tower & patio deed, i can do deals up to that amount. BF or GK would maintain the list/deeds and transactions woul dbe posted in a specific thread like we do in the $$$ sub forum. Certain people like GK or BF would not need to be bonded, and maybe as you establish a track record your bond amount can be reduced.

Would like to hear what BF or GK think.....but it would be a good way to get new brokers into it that people would trust and use if they knew their transaction was covered if the broker tries to pull a Matron on you.

That is a great idea. I'm not sure how we could keep track of people doing trades to make sure they aren't bonded by a tower and trading a keep for someone. You have to be really careful who you sponsor to make sure they aren't greedy and just biding time until they see a big score.

I tend to only sponsor people that don't try to cheat people or undercut. Greedy people is a pet peeve with me.

If anyone has any ideas on how to make such a bonding process work , i'm all ears (or eyes) . And if someone is really interested in such a thing, i'm willing to give it a shot.

EDIT* like to add that this kind of "pay to play" brokering idea kind of puts a target on the back of the people doing the trades for you. It's just asking for someone to try their best to find a way to scam the broker so he/ she loses a chunk of money.

Just be careful where you place your trust...that's all I can say.

I'm sure I rate in the top 5 on your greed list, but I don't do what I do without purpose/reason.

Also I don't ever require anyone I trade with to come to the forums and do a tell all, else I'd probably have a 30 page list of Million gold deals.

I'd probably be interested in becoming a bonded broker just because there seems to be such a shortage at the moment.

you could setup a specific guild just for the bonded brokers and their limit would be in their title.

What's this? Self-promoting "brokers" promoting other brokers? Nice racket guys.

If I were the general public (and I am), I would go through blackfoot entirely. The rest of these guys takes things to seriously. (Maybe Halogen and Wise as well, Wise has actually helped me out with brokering/sales even during our cA/$$$ conflict without scamming. It's a shame Tabius did not learn from him).

It's just a matter of helping everyone without it being just me while everyone is MIA.

We don't have to always fight, matron :(
