Honky Lips wrote:Ah old UO and Napa, those were the days! Never was a game as fun as UO. Anyway, played a variety of characters on Napa:
-Honky Lips (later forcibly renamed to Dave by a GM)
-Kal (Kickass thief and harasser)
-Gluttony
-Al Chemy

Others whose names I cannot remember. Man we had some kickass battles on Napa, I wish I still had some of those screenshots. I think my favorite shot was Nomad and I after we stole a rune and house keys from some Japanese guild and recalled into the middle of their enclosed group of houses. In the end, we must have killed 40 of them, and their ghosts were all standing around going ooOOOOoooOOOoooOoo while we looted their houses. A possible second was a screenshot of Nomad in Jail when a GM snagged him from the top of one of the banks where he was whacking people with a 1-hit crossbow. Fun!

Who could forget Air Skippy's! Kick....Ass....

So I was giving UOSA a look. I don't have much time to play anything anymore, but I have a craving for some old fashioned naked dungeon runs, or maybe some PK hunting...

I'm Nomad aka LiTH from napa.

My first Character was Magic Man and I was in the guild FOJ for about the first year of playing. I later created Pork Tornado and had a murderer dexxer named Redman. I hung out with the guild SAGE after my time in FOJ.

Glad to know there are other Napa players here.
Holy crap, I remember SAGE (I think)! That was Syn, Aon, Gyn and Eon Bladeswift right? I was a clueless 13-year-old when I started playing in 97 and Napa is where I ended up and played until 2001-ish. I remember running into Eon Bladeswitft in Deceit and Trinsic and he was always willing to give this clueless kid some pointers.

I was Sir Nate, St.Nate and Spiffy Spuff on Napa. I have a shitty memory and can't remember everyone I rolled with, but I was in a guild with Eason Ironfist (yeah, can't even remember the guild name).

I might have to pull my old desktop out of storage and see if I can find my old screenshots, loving the vague memories right now :)

Some familiar names! I played as CAPTAIN AMERICA and Omeca the Red mainly. Good times. Played in the dread days in House of Pain guild. Can't remember names, was high most of the time in those days.

Years late to this, I played maybe 1998 until 2001 on Napa? My name was Andrew. I have been looking for some of my old friends from back then. Nupu, Misty, and Simone LeFlame are the main ones I remember. I hope it is possible to reconnect with them someday.

Greetings All!

What can I say, it's been well over 20 years now since the days of UO on Napa Valley. I remember a great many of you, just reading about your adventurers brings a certain amount of happiness and joy to my day. The memories we made back then, the adventurers we had, all of it is like yesterday.

Who am I you say? (James) Duke Shaar Barastl, Founder of the Order of the Sacred Rose, Leader of the City of Mith. It's sad to see Napa fell by the wayside, but I was a gamer chewing up content left and right. (Milisa) Shaaria and I are still married today (celebrating 25 years this month) and have 2 wonderful children. We've continued to game, well into the sunset and are still avid gamers today. Our children followed in our steps and are now playing in some of the latest games out there.

UO, I remember my first day in beta on the beta server. I stepped out of Trinsic and got eaten by the bear. Shaaria laughed her ass off and would never let me forget that day in our last 20+ years. I did my OoooOoOoOoo and we both laughed our asses off. Then I tried to come back to my body and res. Bear vs Shaar, 2 to 0 That was my first time playing and by far some of the funniest starts to a gave ever. We got hooked, we knew the GMs, the Seers and a great many of you. We even met some of you in San Franciso at the gathering. We founded a great player run city and we had some amazing roleplaying, both for the Light of Good and the Darkness of Evil. Did you know that OSR had it's own PVP team? Some of the best in the game. I even had a character amongst those characters as well. At one point, we had over 27 buildings on the isle and then they announced the expansion. Guess what??!?! It was right on top of the City of Mith.

Those were blessed times. I remember redoing my vows with Shaaria in NuJel'm, under the apple tree. The Seers and GMs attended the event and made the tree everlasting. When you clicked on it, it read "Shaar and Shaaria renewed their 5th wedding vows here."

Ahh the memories. I ran across this thread today and though I should say hello to everyone once more!

Good Journeys my friends!
Shaar Barastl
Founder of OSR and the City of Mith

I played Napa from '97-01 as well. My main character was Dread Lord DETOX, my dex monkey was Sanguinarius, my fisherman was Elrohir, and my thief was Arbor. I mostly hung around brit bank. I also hung around the RP player cities like Mith and the Pair-of-Dice. My IRL friend was Nightstalker X and we both flew out to the San Francisco meetup, which Sinful_Maestro mentioned in this thread earlier, for two of the other RP'ers wedding, though I can no longer remember their names. There we did meet with Elwind Thorne who also chimed in earlier in this thread. I remember Mingot, Pall Mall, Parry and his sister, Sofa King, Tempest to name a few. It's been so long and I have a bad memory. I hope some of you are still out there and can reminisce some more. I stumbled upon The Love Crusade page a while back, it has a bunch of the old players in some screenshots: http://spiderprod.com/tlc/pinkdeath.htm ... NAoz0xot6c

Man, that brings back memories... I wasn't too familiar with the game in 1997 and don't remember much apart from watching the neighbors' eldest son play it, which was fascinating as my family didn't even have their own Internet access back then! It's just unpleasant to realise that one of the games you played and liked is more than 20 years old

I came across this page searching for old Napa Valley pvp pics lol

I remember all those names, brings back memories.

We had so many chars I don't remember them all. I had a Dexter (Exospear) My mage was (Mr. Peanut) my bros was (Exodust). We formed a guild called TmN- Team Nemesis and use to give ^Rv some good runs lol.

20 years later nothing scratches that pvp itch, free shards are fun to extent- you just cant bring back that time, it was epic back then and it was because of you guys- thanks for the memories.

This shard is anchored to the ambition of providing 100% mechanical-era-accuracy to the t2A era: this shard is nothing like any other you might have played, or ever will play, except, of course, OSI.

Give us a spin: knock the rust off of your weapons.
