How many boards/ignots is it to GM carpentry and tinkering from 50?
I tried to search but could not find.
Thanks.
Tinkering/Carpentry Question?
Re: Tinkering/Carpentry Question?
the short answer is... alot.
I think carp (from 30, not 50) was in the range of 60-70K
Tinkering (again from 30) will go to 95 ish for around 6-7K inggots with tools to 45 and then lock picks. then i hear 10-15k more from 95-100 (i stopped at 95 for now as this tinker is a crafter and not a bomber.... so no real reason for me to spend 100k topping him off right now.
Also, these skills arnt bad from 30-50... So if you have smithing or another tough skill to raise id buy these up to 30 and go from there.
My Crafter is
100 Smith
100 Tailor
100 Carp
100 Magery
100 Scribe
100 Med
95 Tinkering

Re: Tinkering/Carpentry Question?
Also question:
Do i need high carpentry for a tinker trap to do much damage or does it just rely on the tinkering skill?

Re: Tinkering/Carpentry Question?
I believe you need 0 carp for bombs.keuse wrote:Also question:

Atleast on OSI i bought npc boxes and gm trapped them.
Carp only comes in with tinkering on lockable boxes i believe.
When you creat a lockable box with carp it checks your tinkerskill to see how "good" the lock is.
Im pretty sure there is no carp check on making a bomb... like i said... you dont need to make the box yourself for bombing.
Re: Tinkering/Carpentry Question?
You do not need Carpentry to make traps with the Tinkering Skill. Tinkering does however compliment the Carpentry skill by allowing you to make locked chests and cooking house add on's. If you do not have carpentry, you will need to buy chests for your traps from players or npc vendors. That can get costly after awhile.
It does take around 120k logs to GM carpentry from 30 to 100. At least, that was what it took when I did it. I would suggest that Hoots 60-75k estimate is probably correct to go from 50-100.
Carpentry is a skill I recommend. However, get a stack of 60k logs before trying to see any real gains and not make yourself insane. Otherwise you will chop for 20 mins, carve and not gain then have to chop again. It can be a let down at times. I prefer to get all the chopping out of the way up front. Although you have to wait longer to get anywhere with Carpentry.
