Hear Ye! Hear Ye!

Citizens of Britannia, a most auspicious day will soon be upon us! The lords and rulers of our land, Lord British(Richard Garriott) and Lord Blackthorn(Starr Long), shall be gracing our lands with their presence! Their visit will be to answer our questions relating to their world of New Britannia known as Shroud of the Avatar, their involvement with everything Ultima, and anything else you can think of.

This momentous occasion shall take place at 6PM Eastern time within the halls of Lord British's castle on the 26th day of January in the new year of 2014, and all manner of citizen are invited to join, even foul murderers - so long as they can enter the halls without traveling through the surrounding town. During the duration of this event, the Order & Chaos guards will be out in force, and citizens within the great hall and surrounding balconies shall be under their protection. By their decree, players shall be forbidden from injuring or stealing from each other during the duration of our Lords' visit, and citizens are directed to speak civilly or suffer the wrath of the robed ones.

Please spend time to view and understand our Lords' new world, and ask appropriate questions. All such questions shall be delivered to the robed ones via the freenode IRC network in the special Q&A channel, #SecondAgeQA. To connect to IRC visit http://www.uosecondage.com/Chat. Once there type "/nick newnick" to change your nick to a nick of your choosing, then type "/join #SecondAgeQA" to join the channel and submit your questions. Questions will in turn be delivered within the halls by the robed ones and answered by our great Lords.

Finally, citizens are encouraged to join and celebrate this event. The lords of Britannia have been away for many years, and their return foretells prosperous times ahead! Stick around after the Q&A session as Lord British will be engaging the gem encrusted infestation that has taken hold of Deceit(Gems of Sosaria). After the infestation has been thoroughly wiped from the world we will celebrate the day with The Homecoming Tournament at 9PM EST.
*note: Richard Garriott may or may not actually be playing Lord British during the Gems of Sosaria event.

UPDATE: GuardianKnight put together some pictures from the evening. viewtopic.php?f=11&t=57452

This is the greatest thing ever... Faust are you prepared to ask some questions about swing timers? lol

I wonder what LB can teach us about Era Accuracy... Someone ought to come up with some good questions about that.

Mammoth, mad props to your leet connections and for setting this up.

A very important question: Will damage to players be disabled during the event?

Wow, nice!
Hopefully he can tell us that equipping a weapon during spell cast cycle disrupted the spell :)

Most of his memories are from far before our cut-off date. When he logged in before, he didn't remember ostards. I don't think he'll be of much help for our era's accuracy.

So wait...no more gem encrusted mobs in deceit after the 26th? I knew it probably wouldn't last forever but I don't wanna say goodbye. :(

We have had to pushed back the time of the Q&A by two hours to accommodate a schedule change by one of our guests. The new time of 6PM EST is now reflected in the original post. Because of this The Homecoming Tournament has also been pushed back to 9PM EST to allow enough time to thoroughly wipe out the gem encrusted infestation in Deceit. We sincerely hope this change in time does not affect your plans to attend the evenings festivities.
