I'm going to build out an email template today. Can we get some player ideas as to what they'd like to see covered in the first newsletter? I'm thinking that we should keep the email portion to about 5 short sections. Each section would basically be an introductory paragraph to whatever the heading is. For example (this was quickly thrown together):

===== ~ ======

Status of Events on UOSA

[Picture collage]

At the end of 2014, in-game events made a come back starting with a multiple day Fall Festival at Minoc. Since then, there has been a constant stream of events have surfaced ranging from storyline dialogues and quick mini-games like Monster Bash and Bag Ball.

Pics of pvp action. Any Halloween pics from last year "coming soon". Pics of the last pvp tourney. Was a lot of people on screen. I wish I could show pics of all the new players I've seen roaming. Very encouraging.

Maybe some pics from the dungeon run that Gork just posted the video of from a while ago.

Also, end it with a good Franz comic!!

There should be multiple news feeds, catering to each kind of player.

PvP

PvM

Roleplay/Adventure

Crafting

Pirate

Treasure Hunters

The beauty of UOSA is the diversity.

Wipe the shard.

Knock out the incumbents (let's face it, most of them are dikshits).

Rebrand.

I've got an outline for a newsletter going, built a general template to be used (still grabbing a few assets). I am looking for 2-3 people who want to help with the first issue (send me a PM or reply here). We'll try to setup an IRC meeting in a private room to hammer out details. I'd love to post it in the upcoming 2wks so I can slip in a sneak peek at the upcoming Halloween event as well.

It's an idea, but I think for now we need to get a general newsletter going. Currently there's simply not enough people willing to write or read that unfortunately. However, the forum provides an RSS feed for individual boards, so technically people can sort of subscribe to the content they want to see from here.

Agreed. It's out of my reach though, only Anarcho or Derrick can do this and it's been something I've been waiting on since literally March 2014.

This is not even an option. We're not going to wipe the shard, it would benefit few people. I've spoken on the idea a number of times and you're welcome to search the forum to see all the past discussions.

With any luck, I should have the newsletter draft 100% by the end of today or tomorrow. I need proof readers (to review both the topics I've covered, word usage, grammar/spelling, etc) who can review it by mid-next week. I'd like to get a blast out before the end of next week to promote the upcoming Halloween festivities.

If players could dump some pictures in this thread (imgur links please) for dueling, field pvp, "crazy PVM adventures" or any screenshots that are amazing for another reason, that would be great. I need about 6 good pictures that show a variety of UOSA to slip into this newsletter. The more I have to select from, the better.

Someone post a pic from a lvl 5 t map. Those are usually good pvm pics.

There was a crazy battle royal from last night in bucs. Vega and myself posted pics in player ran event thread.

I'm excited to hear BLJ. Great job
