I'd hope hes fixed his stats as this post is over a month old! (Dunno why it was necroed)
Anyway it doesn't matter if you're skill capped, you can still gain stats without gaining any skill. In fact in some ways this is easier to do than not being capped at all.
(Point skill up, lock all other of your 7 x GM skills and start herding away - Stat Gains with No Skills)
