Razor Error Message

Post by smell1976 »

After downloading and following all instructions listed I run Razor, screen goes to a Grey screen with 'gloved pointer' - flashes a few times - and comes up with this Error Message:
Razor was unable to initialize. Error code:NO_MEMCOPY
Description: Could not copy packet lengths and/or encryption
information from the client.
Cause:Your client version may not be compatible with this version of Razor. You must update your client to at least version 4.0.0.

I ran the Patch 5.0.8.3 exe after fully installing as the instructions say, Is there anything that I can do?

The patch may have runon the installer and not on the installed client if UO was installed to an unusual folder.
Try copying the patch.5.0.8.3 program to the folder you installed to client to (Like D:\Ultima Online) and run it from withing there and it should patch properly.

thanks Derrick

I did as you told,
now I'm getting the same flashing grey screen with 'gloved hand' pointer after starting up Razor

then it goes back to Windows Desktop with the razor error message:

Language Selection::load:

cannot open file <1gen>

Any idea what this is?

thanks Derrick,

I finally figured out that I had to move the patch download to the patch folder and Then upload patch, as soon as I did that everything worked Perfectly.

I'm online but every so often I get a crash from windows with no error messages.
I'm not sure I'll look at the forum to see if anyone else has had the same problem.

Thanks Again

By default it should install it to C:\Program Files (x86)\Ultima Online or something similar check in there for uo.cfg and you can open this with notepad.
