pickaxes need to be equiped? or is this the same ax bug

i have been using the pick axes from my pack
but i cant mine withe them no more unless they are equiped
i just get the msg "cant use a bladed item on that"

Something happened this morning. I can no longer use an axe that is in a secure to destroy a trash barrel. I now need to equip the axe. Get the same message you are. I reported it to Derrick this morning and I believe he is looking into it.

Thanks. The mining issue is a new one on me. I will verify that this is working properly with the fix to smashing furniture that is posted for tommorrow morn.
