guard whacked for opening a corpse

as title says i opened a blue corpse and was instantly guard whacked. did i miss a patch?

I should probably add that the guys body was being guarded by a pet which probably had something to do with it

You should definitely add that part lol. After a patch in the last year they made it so that if you tried to loot a corpse of a body (or een open it i guess) that was guarded it would be considered a hostile action by the guarding pet. getting g-whacked seems like the correct thing to happen.
