Fairly Worn = Idoc now days?

Post by FearItself »

I am suspecting some corruption.

Apparently I lost 10 houses that were fairly Worn huh?

I know for a 100% fact that ALL OF my housing was FAIRLY WORN!

I refresh them all the exact same day and exact same hour.

Are GMs capable of changing the time? Or is this a bug?

Unfortunately this means I lost several million gold and have absolutely no heart to suck it up and take my losses.

UO fucked me over. Thanks for either corrupt Admin or A bugged Refresh system.

You suck

I understand the rage, but there is no way an gm/admin would force your houses to fall... its a ridiculous notion.

People camped your houses as they decayed and you messed up refreshing them, to bad on your part :(

Hope u can muster up the heart to carry on.

There's no way that we could ever prove that an administrator didn't decide to get on and potentially cause your houses to fall, but I will categorically say that I know that no one on staff has done anything of the sort. As for the refreshing system, there have been no consistent bugs reported with the system, and I know that our refreshing system takes extra steps to ensure that houses remain properly refreshed if it is actually done. Unfortunately, I would just chalk this up to user error.

I can definitely attest to seeing some of your houses in the stage of IDOC. After you refresh a house, you have more than 14 days before they fall. I always refresh my houses every less than 7 days now, so that I can fuck up once, after I found my Keep IDOC on what I thought was day 7 of my refresh routine. And I'm OCD, I double click that door 3 fucking times every time I refresh, and it still happened.

It seems in your case, since all your houses fell, you likely did it either during server wars, or during a time when the server crashed shortly after, and had to timewarp back to a previous save. Unfortunately, this happens, albeit rarely. It's happened to me once and I lost more than a million as well. My advice: refresh your houses WELL before they are due to fall, and then immediately after, move some unique/obvious item into a different position in your house. Login a few hours later, or the next day, and make sure the item is still in the updated position. If it's not, you know your refresh didn't save. It's easier than recalling around to all your houses again. Again, this is very rare, but with thousands of active accounts (even if just for refresh mode), it's going to happen a few times a year.

Oh yeah, and I'm willing to throw you some gold if you take back your comments and negative attitude regarding GMs, etc. Nickodemuse I'm sure is also willing to help you get geared up again to start back up. He's been trying like a madman in IRC to get your Monster Bash trophy back for you. That's a true friend.
