Haven't refreshed house but it's still like new

Happened twice to one of my houses, I know I hadn't refreshed it in several days, but the sign still said it was like new before I refreshed it.
Edit: Something I thought of. I didn't notice anything missing in that house, but..........could someone else have the password to that account?

I found out that just walking up the door and attempting to open it will refresh you don't have to actually open it. I didn't know this.
