Carpentry Guide
I've recently got to GM status in carpentry and here is what I made to get there:
I bought up to around 30 carpentry real skill, 47ish shown.
Here is what I made to gm:
47 - 65: Ballot Box
65 - 75: Wooden Shield
75 - 90: Quarter Staff
90 - GM: Gnarled Staff
I think around 99 I made a few music stands and easels but I'm not sure if that actually helped or if I lost more boards that way.
It took me around 50k Boards to GM, give or take 5k.
I stood next to a trash can at a bank and just dumped everything in there with a Razor organizer macro called from my carpentry macro. The time it would take to make trips and sell the items made it definitely not worth it to me, especially with the vendor's paying less and less for goods they are overstocked with.

Re: Carpentry Guide
yeah sometimes the time wasted to recall run and sell stuff doesnt worth it... My suggestion is to make a macro to make the item ,grab it and drop on feet that way u can go to a safe forest chopp logs manually while the razor macro is wasting them...(dont need to turn them into boards) this way u train 2 skills at same time. Thats what i did.
Razor macro used:
double click (saw)
wait for menu "set it to 1 value timeout for all wait for menus"
menu response
wait for menu
menu response
lift gnarled staff
drop (relative)@(0,0,0)
Works good i hope derrick dont mind to see a trail of wooden stuff =oP

Re: Carpentry Guide
It won't display the ballot box until you have the appropriate skill level to make them. Try doing small crates for a while and recheckign to see if they get added to oyur menu.

Is that real skill that your guide is based off of?Storm wrote:I've recently got to GM status in carpentry and here is what I made to get there:

Re: Carpentry Guide
No it is based off of the adjusted value.
Re: Carpentry Guide
I could not find any carpenter NPC (or anything) to sell above ~23 real skill.
Supplies used:
~20k boards - took me from about 23 bought, real-skill (~40 shown/inflated), up to 53 real skill (63.5 shown/inflated).
~25k more boards - took me from 53 real skill (63.5 shown/inflated), up to 82 real skill (86 shown/inflated).
~20k more boards - took me from 82 real skill (86 shown/inflated), up to 97.2 real skill (97.8 shown/inflated).
~15k more boards - took me from 97.2 real skill up to GM, and I canceled out of about 45 GM mark prompts, so I probably overkilled it and could have done it on 13k?
Total = 78-80k from bought to GM.
Make sure if you're axing crates, you don't forget about the copper keys that pile up. Therefore, I'd recommend lift by type, and drag to barrel.
Here is my razor macro text, you'll have to set up the restocking and change the menu prompts as you go of course, and change the barrel ID if your barrel changes:
