Tinkering/Carpentry

Any tips? Right now skill is 55.4 in Carpentry and Tinkering is 52.2. Making lockpicks to raise Tinkering but I need tips for Carpentry.

Try wooden shields till 68 skill then fishing poles till 74. You'll need 40 tailoring and some cloth for this. Then do quarter staves till 80 and gnarled staves to GM.
