Provo Macro help please

Everytime I try to provo at a stable or anywhere with a table or fence in between me and the animal i get a target is too far away message. What's the trick here? Im only 2 tiles from target but everytime target is too far away. I see other people doing it but i cant. Any help would be great.

Is it just saying "That is too far away".

If so check and make sure you have set your instrument by double clicking it. My macro will have me double click my instrument before every provocation attempt.
