SINGLES COMPETITION IDEA:
Conquest. This will be somewhat similar to the idea I had before in ways of the runes and such. In this game, its every man for himself. The name of the game is to conquer each house. There are 5 houses in hidden valley, and each one must be "captured," so how does it work? We all start off the game in the grey NPC building near the bottom of the area. In each house, are many chests with unmarked recall runes in them. However, there is one rune that will be marked as the conquor stone in each house. Once a player finds this conquor stone, he must bring it to Ashborn in the grey building. Once he gives it to AShborn, that house is considered conquered. Ash can turn the house public, and this will show other players that this house is no longer worth trying to conquered. At the end of the game, whoever has the most houses conquered, wins. In the case of a tie, those players split the loot/winnings (theres really no way to break a tie in a game like this, cause technically 5 people could get 5 different houses). Players are allowed, and even encouraged, to kill each other, but there will be no looting. Players can go to whichever house they want first, however, be warned, not only are some of the chests trapped, but there will also be other traps around the field. There will be a couple "valley masters" that are not there to play, but are there to just kill the players who are trespassing in their precious valley. For example, one valley master may be throwing EV's the entire time, one valley master may be stealing, one valley master may just be attacking everyone in sight. This makes the game a bit harder. IF there is a valley master that is playing thief (Elk, youd prolly be my choice) then tif that thief steals the conquor stone (marked rune) before the player gives it to ash, the thief must run it back to that house and put it back in the house, in a different (or the same) chest. Playeres are NOT allowed on mounts. I would prefer to tag everyone to a stone to prevent kills, but its not necessary. I honestly think this could work. Thoughts?

I like the conquer the house idea, but I think it would be best to work this way:

Fill each house with chests and bags and fake gold keys(make it hard to find). Only one key will lock the door. Once that key is found that person can lock the door, make sure everyone is out of the house, kill them if you have to and you now have conquered this house. Once every house has been taken the game is over and those 5 people win!

With GM help, random mobs can spawn inside each house once every 2 minutes or so. That way, even if you lock the door and conquer the house you still have to stay alive and stay inside to maintain the house and kill the mob while the other houses are being conquered.

Thats not a bad idea at all either. The only problem I can see is if the person inside the house dies with the key on them, then are they automatically the winner?
One other thing about my conquest idea, if a person gets a rune, as hes running to ashborn, he can be killed and the rune taken.

Thats why I was saying about being tagged to a stone for these events, otherwise TG will just come and try to grief, probably not kill anyone, and just ruin the event.

Gotcha, so then that house is considered null and void your saying? I like this idea.

Yes, you must control and maintain the conquered house!

Also, with the key you can run outside and help guild mates control another home. You could find the key, tell no one and run and help find another home and have your guild come clear them out.

Wow lovin the ideas!

I think there are 4 listed now? This will make voting very good. I want Elk Eater to place his two ideas on this thread too for some feedback.

Just a thought...Escort Missions...no idea if this is feasible :D

5 houses
1 PC Escort in each house
Players start in Valley Entrance Tunnel. This is base.
A gate is also kept open during each round at the rear of the valley leading to base.
The gatekeeper also keeps score. Whoever gets the most escorts back to base wins.

Escorts:
At the start of each round one escort will be in each house. Escorts are Player Characters, preferably dex’ers equipped with GM gear for defense. Escorts follow using auto-follow.

• Are guilded to a stone to avoid counts [in lieu of a better method]
• Can be attacked by other players
• Can defend themselves if attacked
• Can be killed by other players
• Can be rez’d and escorted by another player
• Can be healed
• Can be taken to base either directly to the tunnel or by the gate at the rear of the valley
• Assume War Mode and stand still until rez’d by another player
• Auto-follow the player who rez’d them
• Cannot loot their own corpses if rez’d

Players:
All players start in the Valley Entrance Tunnel, fighting to get the most escorts back to base.

• Are dismounted
• Can attack and be attacked and killed by other players
• Can attack and kill other players escorts
• Can defend themselves
• Can be rez’d in the tunnel and return to the round
• Can loot their own corpses
• Cannot loot other player’s or escort’s corpses
• Cannot attack any other player while at base
• Must leave base upon being rez’d & healed

I like the direction that this thread is moving in. Some really great ideas and discussions breaking out. I'll chat with the others, but I think it's safe to assume we'd be able to provide some basic assistance with it.

Awesome Boomland! I have an extremely busy schedule this week but I will be posting a poll up soon for the ideas presented here and then later next week I can try to start putting stuff together.

I'm thinking an Ancient Wyrm thing that each team will be led by a captain who will recruit off the forums.. then when an Ancient Wyrm in each team house dies, I distribute the funds to that captain who then can pay his team members. To kill someones AW, Eearthquake and other shenanigans will definitely be used which will invariably create grey people who will start pvp.. also since the wyrms will be gray, if a team wants to heal it then they can do so but it will turn them gray to do it which will cause more pvp.

There will be a wyrm in 4/5 of the houses with the 5th opening up after all wyrms are dead with a bonus prize or something in it...

If I cannot get an ancient wyrm spawn in each house, I'll use whitewyrms or dragons. :)

Figured there would be more suggestions submitted for this awesome player-funded idea...

Realizing it's after the fact but...if I may...

perhaps for a simple event...maybe a warm-up to the main event...

A Rune Hunt [player max, teams or free-for-all]

Mark several runes to a Base location where a Score Keeper waits to collect runes. Have a rune/book for returning back to the valley.

Put a bunch of containers in each house for possible hiding locations for the runes, perhaps hiding them around the valley as well.

Start the match and let everybody hunt/fight over the runes
On finding a rune a player can either continue to hunt/fight for more runes or recall off it to Base, rename it to his char name and turn it in to the Score Keeper.

Perhaps put a time limit on it...at the end of the match the Score Keeper tallies up the runes for each player...the one with the most runes wins a prize.

more rocks for the soup... :D
