UO Second Age

I'm sure many of you are familiar with the "Bob VS Fred" wars. The basic idea is mass people make "Bob" or "Fred" characters and create teams. Then these squads of newbie characters clash until only Bobs or Freds are standing.

Overview
Every week we will have a war at a set time on Sundays, if enough people are interested. Each week the names of the teams will change and announced fairly close to the game's start time. This is to prevent people from creating "Super Bobs" or "Super Freds" in their free time. One week may be "Bob vs Fred", another week may be "Joseph Vs Mary"... so keep an extra character slot open so you can make a toon each week!

The Rules
1) Must be a fresh character with only starting skills & stats
2) You can purchase items with your newbie gold only from NPC vendors
3) You may not use any other items at all
4) You must fight to the death!

The Reward
10-15 minutes of your time wasted on a meaningless, yet fun, battle.

Sounds like a lot of fun! I'm trying to do an event each week on Saturday and Sunday for the Academy competitions as well. I'll keep an eye on times so we don't overlap.

Sounds like a blast so count me in. But how do you plan on keeping the teams even? I mean if 10 people show up as Bob and 4 as Fred then it wouldnt be much fun for the Fred team lol. I guess in the end it really doesnt matter as its all for fun anyways.

We'll probably do what we did last time we held one of these on UOSA, make a temporary IRC channel and settle teams out in a rapid but organized fashion

like im gonna do 50 hiding and 50 enticement ftw!!

Is it possible to use a particular building for this? In case there is any crashing or illegal characters, they could be banned. I know there are some towers and keeps set up just for combat that are collecting dust.

I have a tower on Vesper beach that is collecting dust. Im willing to co-own event runners to it to run events as they please. Just msg me here, i dont get on IRC much anymore.

Im wondering how this went? I work Sundays and cant attend but would love to. It brings me back to Imanewbie days
