$$$ Fishing Contest!

The Syndicate Of Successful Salesmen is hosting its first Fishing Contest!

• Remember there is to be no hostile actions from those participating in events, this includes attacks and thievery.
• All shades of players are welcome (blue, grey, orange, and red).
• There is always a chance of getting attacked or stolen from people outside the event.
• Please do not bring or wear anything to events you do not mind getting stolen or looted by outside players.

Purpose? To award the most successful catch of the day!

When? Saturday August 8th starting at 1pm EST

Where? The Fishing Contest will be held at the $$$ Rune Library just south of the Moonglow moongate.



Details

• Players will bring their fisher man or woman to the $$$ Rune Tower.
• Players need to make sure they are not holding any fish, t-maps, or MIB's. Players will be snooped to ensure rules are met.
• Players will board the boat(s) navigated by $$$ members.
• Players will have 1 hour to fish and put their catch into a bag for counting and points.
• The player with the highest point total from the catch wins the grand prize!

Points and Prizes

• 1 point for Regular Fish
• 2 points for Special Fish
• 25 points for a Treasure Map (Fished up only)
• 35 points for a Message in a Bottle
• 30k Grand Prize to the Top Fisher!

I asked about this in IRC. You get to keep them all.

Question:

Will there be ANY intervention by [$$$] members in charge of navigation if and when Fishermen are attacked by water eles, sea and deep sea serps?

Or will this be a dynamic of the Fishing contest?

Fishermen will need to be able to defend themselves. My fisher can definitely knock these out easy though, so i'll pitch in.

I think killing your own serps, etc should be a dynamic of the contest.
If you were alone fishing you would have to kill these mobs anyway.
besides it is possible to pull tmaps off of a serp, so it can acutally help you in the event. This is only my opnion.



Also are you allowed to use razor? I ask because with razor, even if you pull up a serp, you can keep on fishing much easier as you are killing it. Figured I ask cause there was no rule about it.

As noted in the original post, t-maps from serpents are not counted. I anticipated having to help kill them because they may otherwise get in the way. If they don't seem to be in the way, then I will perhaps then let stay around and attack their fisher

Thanks to those that came out! We were few, but it was a pretty fun time! We managed to continue the event despite the really bad lag.

He won the 30,000 gold grand prize! He also beat the $$$ Staff at fishing and won the event boat as well.
