Patch 128 - April 14 2010: Fishing, Spawns

  • Shipwrecked Barrel Staves will be "real" Barrel Staves, which can now be used to craft barrels.
  • All Shipwrecked items will default to 1 stone weight (thread)
  • These two changes to shipwreck items do not apply to existing items, only new items.
  • Fishing will unhide you. (thread)
  • Healers added to Lost Lands, and changes to Verity Island & Barrier Island animal spawns (a bull)
  • Guards will persist for 3 minutes after being called, was 20 seconds.

The hiding fix on fishing should ward off a lot of the afk fishing macros now.

Wait For Target
Target Location
Pause 2.0 Seconds
Use Skill Hiding
Pause 10 Seconds.


Rinse/Repeat.

No, however it does obviously slow fishing down a bit. If you want to speed fish, don't hide.

Was specifically referring to sea serpents... My previous macro easily bypassed ever dying against a serpent because of hiding.

Code: Select all

Loop 10
Fish
Pause 1000
End Loop
Say "forward"
Hide
Pause 10000
Say "stop"
Hide
You will now unhide after initiating the fishing method and this will most certainly remove a lot of the afk fishing substantially since sea serpents tend to block your boat from moving upon attacking.

Before you could fish a spot dry and simply move forward and hide immediately after saying the commands keeping yourself completely safe from ever dying.

Now you will have to stay more alert or you will die.

People will still be able to do a fish/hide every 10 seconds but that's removing a substantial amount of in between fishing while hidden that was possible before this patch.

Was the rate at which MIB's are pulled up modified? (nerfed)

I haven't seen this debated on the forums, and I don't remember this being around in t2a. I always thought you needed a PC to help or a run back to Papua or Deliciua.

Are they going to be wandering healers just wandering around?

I thought so too, and I meant to attribute this with a link but i lost the source since i made the change.
The information on wandering healers in the lost lands was found when I was looking for something else on Stratics, maybe someone can find this but the jist of it was that wandering healers were "very hard to find" in the lost lands, but indicated that they were definitely out there.

A simple google search of "wandering healers in the lost lands" found them.

There are very few wandering healers in the Lost Lands so if you die, you have to run all the way to one of the towns or get resurrected by a friend. I have only found 2 wandering healers within the Lost Lands and those were by pure luck.

rate at which mibs are fished up are now wack fished entire lotr - the fellowship movie extended version attended ofcourse with out fishing 1 mib

mib rates weren't adjusted with this patch and they are the same as they were previously.

Yesterday I got 18 over the course of an 8 hour day.

Since 8am (EST) so far I have 2.

I realize that there's an essence of luck to this, but NOT that much. Somethign got adjusted. Not saying it was done on purpose, but it's defiently off from yesterday.

There's a thread where numerous people stated the spawn is ~ 2-3/hr. Have you gone out testing yet today? Because I have and I am getting not even 1/hr.

Have you tested today that you are still getting 2-3/hr?

I'm just stating there wasn't anything intentional done to mibs in this patch. I am sure Derrick will eventually confirm this when he notices that it has been floating around for a bit since the patch. I doubt anything has changed though and it's probably just bad luck. I have went several hours before and only got a couple myself and other times it was booming.
