  • Housing & placement:
    • House placement checks have been rewritten to be more correct.
    • The requirement for even ground around the foundation is less strict than it was.
    • House Steps are considered foundation, and will be accounted for in the yard check. Thanks Kryptonical
    • House placement checks occur much faster now.
    • To avoid spamming placement of large houses which can impact system performance, a 3 second reuse delay has been added to house deeds.
    • Players within a house are no longer moved to the center when the house is demolished.
    • Banned Mobiles no longer moved to ban-location when entering a house, they will just bounce off the steps.
  • Fixed inability to use a pickaxe to dig for treasure unless there was a shovel in pack. Thanks Ulfrigg Rose and Kaivan
  • You can no longer friend a pet to a player who cannot control it. Thanks Kaivan
  • The teleporter to the Star Room is no longer triggered by simply approaching the altar, you must double click the brazier. Thanks Malice
  • Fix for shard crash on the morning Sep 26, related to showing house items when entering a house. (Thanks BobMarley for helping to troubleshoot)
  • Tournament event gates will be red, rather than blue.
  • Test center will no longer show in the shard list when it is not open for testing.
Added Oct 3
  • It's not possible to teleport within a castle or keep courtyard. (Thanks Robbb)

Friended a mare to my 0 tamer today after server up. Also friended a frenzied ostard - fresh tamed - to another player (tank mage) after server up.

Unless the mobiles themselves are grandfathered, the patch isn't working as intended.

Hi,

Looks like some good changes, but I'm a little unclear on this statement:

This means that houses must be 5 steps away from the front of the stairs (which is how it was previously-- right?)... so has anything changed here?

Based on the referenced post, Kryptonical appears to be arguing that steps should not be included in the "yard check", meaning you could place a house 4 steps away from the steps of a small, and 3 steps away from a tower.

Thanks for the hard work on this great shard btw!

Yes, previously is was possible to place a house behind abother house with no regard to the steps. For towers, back to back, this resulted in the steps of the house behind being 3 tiles away, and almost completely hiding the front of tower behind.

Aye, the argument in the thread was that the steps should not count in either direction, the opposite approach was taken, that the steps should count in both directions.

My pleasure!

Ya, more info on the taming thing please. Does this mean the 0 taming to retame a pet is dead? With zero taming, you could not do 'all follow', but you could still ride it. Can't even ride them now?

Thanks in advance for more info.

You should still be able to retame a pet with 0 taming.

You should no longer be able to be friended to a pet that you are not capable of controlling.

I tamed a mare a few hours ago and was able to friend it to my alt.

Aye. this only effects the abiilty to add a friend to a pet, prohibiting players who cannot control that pet; just as you have not been able to transfer a pet to a player who cannot it. There have been no other changes to pets.
