Patch 103 - May 30, 2009 : More Little stuff

Post by Derrick »

These are mostly fixes to issues that have come up in the last couple weeks and were brought to my attention via the bug report forum or the Suggestions & Accuracy forum. Thanks to everyone who reported and participated in the discussion of these issues.
  • Some creatures will travel and fight in packs again.
  • Escortables will now defend themselves
  • Aggressive creatures will no longer acquire led escortables
  • Hireable Rangers adjusted.
  • Old death sounds for Players
  • Monsters/NPC's Double spellcasting and Firebreath/Spell combos are reduced
  • One Minute Delay on buying items from player vendors after placing the items is removed
  • Appraisals of zero gold will no longer occur with ItemID, the message will be "I have no idea..."
  • Can now steal from NPC's you are escorting.
  • Anyone can attempt steal from perma gray thieves event if they appear blue
  • Smith Hammer now behaves as a macing weapon.
  • A cap that was inadvertently applied to weapon swing speed has been removed. (Thanks to Kraarug for identifying this bug)
  • CTF Flag will return to home if passed after game is ended
  • Possible fix for big lag bursts lately. This is thought to be a glitch in creature AI (again)
  • Fixed message error when placing a boat from the deck of another ship.
  • Fixed bug that crashed us yesterday noon, was related to baking Sweet Dough.
  • Creature movement is no longer blocked by Ghosts
  • Blessed clothing will show [blessed] tag
  • Cutting a corpse will no longer reveal the real name of the owner
  • Some tweaks were made to Karma, Fame and Equipment of Nobles and "Seekers of Adventure"
June 1 Addendum:
  • You can now complete bandaging of a pet you are riding
  • Pets can now be targeted using last target when being ridden (pets however cannot be damaged when ridden)
  • Out Of Mana message now appears in red over casters head
  • All hirelings were being deleted on server restart, even hired ones; this has been fixed.
  • The Pay Timer for hirelings was running too fast, and they were collecting their daily wage every 6 game hours. This has been fixed.

Whyle we are on the topic of ghost blocking

currently ghosts block the placement of houses, i cant for the life of me remember if this is accurate, but it seems pretty lame.

I noticed this also.

For instance, everyone I've seen taming HH's have had no healer present to keep them alive.

Considering I'm currently one of those tamers, I'm going to politely asked this be fixed later, rather then sooner. But I'll leave that to your discretion Derrick

*edit*
Some creatures will travel and fight in packs again.
Just curious, which creatures will this effect?

I became aware of the firebreath problem over the weekend. This should be fixed soon.

The Creature Packs will effect some Orcs, Hellhounds, and a few other miscellaneous creatures. However, we pulled this feature previously because we believed it was causing lag, and since it's reimplementation, we appear to be getting lag busts again, even though all pack creatures were disabled, the lag has persisted. I'm not sure if we may have to revert this entire feature until we're more clear on what the problem is.

Ghosts blocking house placement is era accurate. In era, nothing was "Moved" when a house was placed; so if it was allowed to place over a ghost, you'd be trapping the ghost in the floor.

Everything blocks house placement, including corpses.

Might as well just make this a patch addendum, a couple more little things were added on tonights restart:
  • You can now complete bandaging of a pet you are riding
  • Pets can now be targeted using last target when being ridden (pets however cannot be damaged when ridden)
  • Out Of Mana message now appears in red over casters head
  • All hirelings were being deleted on server restart, even hired ones; this has been fixed.
  • The Pay Timer for hirelings was running too fast, and they were collecting their daily wage every 6 game hours. This has been fixed.
