You can get the oddball shaped jewels from wandering healer kills sometimes.

At one point, some fairly reputable people sold them to me for 20k each...suffice to say, they cheated me and knew better. Beware the rare jewel market...it doesn't exist.

Tried to warn you that time...

It was in a MiB chest? I have never heard that happening. As GK said, I only knew them from NPCs (not only wandering healers).

Re: Heater shields. You can craft them. Magical ones are the "semi-rare" ones.

I also fished up a 'special' jewel before.

What, are heater shields not craftable? Does anyone know why they originally were made rare in this way?

Edit: Nvm, missed some previous replies!

Many NPC's, when they fall victim to treachery, can have some of these alternate graphic items or reverses.

You can snoop them to see what they have on them, or you can "force" the spawn by killing them repeatedly. Artists will not show the Paint's and Brush upon snooping, though.

Happy Murdering....errrr.....Farming.

Orange non decaying weather map, I think there are only 2, and the last one sold for around 3 mill.

This needs to be remade.

All of the rich people now are actually fairly new and know very little about the actual value of things that aren't spawning rares.
Everyone that knew true value was banned or quit.

Banning is a necessity, but we lose years of history every time we lose someone.

As someone with partial market control and extensive current knowledge on what things go for, I'd be more than happy to re-do this.

Putting a true, current, value on things does not benefit you. Why would you do that?

I'm honestly beyond rich at this point. Anything that sells for less than 2-3 mill isn't worth haggling on.
