Door was locked but room was entered using bug, I believe this has been highlighted before, but It was a little late by the time I found out and costly.

Re: Lootable Houses
I call BS.
1: noone is going to admit using a hack.
2: Book says "looted your castle", picture is of a tower.
3: If said hack exsisted people would be screaming if there actually was a bug/hack that had the ability that got people through locked doors. Because no house would be safe. All castles would be completely emptied.
Sorry for your loss but i think someone did the old fashion stealth and steal. They just left a book for their trademark.

Re: Lootable Houses
If anyone knew the bug, they certainly wouldn't admit to it on the forums, or detail how it works.

Re: Lootable Houses
It definately happened when I wasnt there, and the door is and was definately locked, im pretty sure about this. I was also going mental with the detect hiddens so unless theres away of avoiding that then there was nobody in that room.
I not trying to pin anything on anybody and accept its my own loss for not having even tighter security. This was what I was left with and so I thought I might as well highlight it, just incase there was an issue so that others didnt make a similar mistake.
As far as I'm aware there is no way of proving who left the book.

Re: Lootable Houses
I get into peoples houses when they aren't there all the time. I am sure there is a logical explanation for this one. Otherwise, every house on the server would be empty by now.
Re: Lootable Houses
I know at one point in time detect hidden wouldn't reveal the entire castle if you were on one side and they were hidden on the other, not sure if this was ever fixed or not. Seeing how this is a tower that obviously doesn't apply here though..

Re: Lootable Houses
The only potential "exploit" in my mind would be if you had some friends to the tower, they could likely use an impassable object to bump up/down a floor in the tower so any room you were using as secure storage wouldn't be secure.
If the book is legit - as in someone who looted your tower actually left it - I see no reason to believe the content of it is accurate for any reason. No one would admit they used an exploit. Who ever left it is probably having a laugh that you believed them and made a post though.
Edit: Reading the book again "inner door exploit/hack" suggests they used an inner door to bump up to the next level. AFAIK this requires them to be friended. I believe this is an accurate mechanic and suggest everyone hide yo kids/hide yo wife. Also lock your front door and stop friending random people.

Re: Lootable Houses
Oh what has this world come to when poor wretches such as Quin are wantonly accused of of so heinous an action?
Obviously some villain using the inner door hack/exploit is using poor Quin's good name as a scapegoat. As a good citizen of Sosaria (for I am clearly known as good to all who view me) I condemn this act. I recall ages ago in another land, exploiters or "sploiterz" as they like to be known once perpetrated similar acts. May Lord British punish all sploiterz and haXxOrz! As I am no "sploiter" I cannot say how but I do recall the defense that we good Sosarians implemented. The defense was a row of small tables double stacked one on top of the other along all interior walls. We oft found occasion to place some object of color, an apple or some fair cloth for instance, to decorate amongst the tables. Furthermore, tables must be, and I repeat must be triple stacked before and after each interior door. Ts a sad truth of our world that the brutish crafters of our world create not the most effective of mechanisms. That is to say that while locks may appear to function, that to which they are applied may not.
On a completely unrelated topic Quin recently chanced upon some misplaced articles. Should the owner of said articles wish to come forward and alleviate our concerns of honest intent with a charitable donation to the honorable "Save the Wretch Foundation" please seek out Quin at your earliest convenience.

Re: Lootable Houses
Mystery Solved! no hax/scam but it may still be a bug?
The door was indeed locked and there was indeed nobody inside the tower.
Unfortunately for some reason the door is locked on the wrong side, i.e from inside the room. This means like other house doors that are locked you may access from 'inside' the door, although the inside is infact outside the room! if that makes any sense? see pics below:
I tried locking it from either side but makes no difference - Is this way it should be? - Having never owned a tower previously I was unaware of this.
Seems rather pointless to me - Only use is if you want to lock someone inside the room? but even then you could recal or re-log and chuck yourself onto the doorstep.
A bit misleading to be given a key for a pointless door?
Am I missing something here? (other than the stuff that was in the room)

I've owned towers, and my doors didn't work that way. I had characters locked in the rooms to let people outside of the rooms in. Yours are backwards. That's weird.
