Temporary Compromise/Fix for Trophies

For ideas on how to make Second Age a better shard. Can it get any better? Maybe.

Temporary Compromise/Fix for Trophies

My proposal is simple. Twice a week at preordained times, there would be CTF's that would give out trophies. They would be marked accordingly, and held around peak playing times. For example, on Monday there might be a CTF (Wharf)(Trophies), where the previous trophy distribution regime would be in effect.

I think this would be a good mean between two extremes, and it would at least synchronize the playing times of a large segment of UOSAers. It would also probably lead to some extremely fun and huge events, and a crazy cluster$&!$ afterward.

I think it's worth giving a go.

Whats gonna happen to the trophy turn in system when all of the trophies on the server have been redeemed for rewards? No one will get any of those sweet items.

i collected about 45 pts from events in august/sept from just playing the game not buying any

Warning, TANGENT:

Why are PVM trophies worth so much more when compared to the PVP events?

Why isnt the 1v1 champion awarded with a 50 point trophy, and 2nd place 25 (or 100 and 50??????) Contrast this with every dupree operation black wall attendee awarded with 5 pointer? 25 people attend 1v1 and 15 max trophies awarded, 25 attend dupree hulk smash mongbat and 125 awarded?

Also, please more deathmatch, it was quite enjoyable.

pvp events are absolutly risk free
why should somone who risks absolutely nothing, not even regs, be rewarded with anything at all

Those events that take place in the real world, costing people equipment and resources to take part in, people dying losing their gear, taking RISK

are far more deserving of reward

Do we agree that there should be a way to attain items from the trophy turn in system? I've said this before and I'll say it again, maybe only the person who does the best on the winning team gets a trophy? That way there would even be competition among team members and the shard wouldn't be flooded with trophies.

I think last man standing needs de-trophied. To go in there against a 5 man team that are all syncing on a target and then watching the same 5 in the end fighting for a trophy is total BS. It's nothing short of a monopoly of an event.

risking 3-5k worth of loot for a 50k reward isn't much of a risk at all

I don't care at all about actually attaining trophies.
I have blessed hued items, 200+ trophy points, and plenty of resources to purchase trophies.

Rather, the reason I want the large events a couple of times a week to give trophies is to synchronize the playing times of a large portion of the player base. This means that leading up until, during, and immediately after the trophy-bearing event, there will be abnormally high player concentration and activity, and it will make the shard more vibrant for the time being.

For whatever reason, trophies at events leads to a more active player base. People who would not ordinarily be playing the game (or would be macroing, etc) suddenly appear, and this leads to a more enjoyable player experience for everyone.

Any risk > zero risk.

You basically just reinforced his arguement.

It is simple to me. PvM events may be participated in by all. New/old/7x/newbs/thiefs/tanks/guilds/solos/reds/blues/etc/etc/etc

1 vs 1 is basicaly a 7x hally-tank competition. With previous rewards you had to be a very skilled hally mage to have a shot at winning enough trophies to buy something.


Rewarding 1 specfic 7x template when there art hundreds of other templates in this game does not make sense to me.

a dexer can win 1v1 it's just that no ones willing to stock well enough when tehy enter tournies, you never see dexers with MR jewels, invis bracelets, 60 purple pots, dp'd weapons etc


They're always understocked and thats why they lose.

1v1 is a huge time sink newbicus. You realize a eagle is worth 75k now?

Up trophy output of pvp event or reduce output of pvm event.

PvP tourneys can easily be rigged and sometimes there are a total of 4 people in those things. PvM is fairly standardized on the other hand.

I suspect you mean LMS can be rigged if guilds gank individuals?

How do you rig 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 or deathmatch tourney???

I vote remove all LMS slots and switch em with deathmatch.
