"That is not your container, you can't store things here"

Nearly every container in town says this. Is this accurate?
It seems very strange.

It's not accurate at all; you should be able to put things in these containers, but items in containers in these places should decay as well. This had been on the list of stuff that needs doing for a long long time, but typically the squeaky wheel gets the grease on mild accuracy issues like this. This is a major mechanical deficiency, so thanks for squeaking.

This will probably be a bit of work, but it's about time we got it done.

Can't wait to set up a spy-vs-spy game! Wait; can you make it so these containers are trappable???

They should already be trappable.

Hmm... intriguing...

Anybody else play spy-vs-spy on the Commoder 64 or Nintendo? Hehe you had to run around searching all these containers for parts to build an airplane or rocket or something to escape; some containers contained items that you could use to trap other containers or attack the other spy (when they died it took a while for them to come back to life)... could make for an interesting event (for Tinkers only with no detect traps / disarm trap ability).

... hehe the more I think about it, the more viable this appears...

If somebody wants to take this idea, please feel free to put it together :)

Yea I hear ya... the load times were so bad on some games (Ultima I was the WORST--like 1 minute to get into town or a dungeon)... but I still played in spite of this, even as a 5 year old. Somehow, it was worth the wait :).

You should just get an emulator though :) Or, for some real nostalgia, go listen to some MIDI files at vgmusic.com (I highly recommend "Lazy Jones", from whom Zombie Nation stole their "theme" song).

Anyway, without further derailing this thread, I have written out all my spy vs. spy ideas here

I recently came across a C64 site that brought back some nostalgia. If the vgmusic.com site doesn't have the song/game you're looking for, check out: http://www.lemon64.com
I relived a lot of old memories there recently. They have some screenshots and music for most of the games that I ever played.

This is a terribly bothersome thing. Sometimes you just want to put stuff away somewhere temporarily without needing the house/boat/bank.

+1 For the implementation! I felt something was off about it! Nice one!

only the changes haven't been implemented yet. there are many uses for being able to put things into the public containers, indeed.

So, is this fixed yet?

What will the decay timer be? Is it as if the item was on the ground or somewhat longer?
