Destroying house add-on's

Post by Roser »

When destroying these (anvil, forge, spinning wheel, etc...), should we be getting the deed back? or are they to be permanently destroyed?

Currently axing these items destroys/deletes them.

They should be destroyed, if not we would be getting deeds back when the house deletes during IDOC. They wouldn't overlook something this big I don't think.

I'd have to check the archives of the UO patch notes for the exact date, but destroying an add-on deleted the add-on entirely until some time during UOR, where it was changed to give you the deed back when destroyed.

But "special" add ons like plants and bear skin rugs always gave the deed back since their original inception?

Plants was a lapse of memory on my part. When I typed plants I was still thinking bear skin rug. Woops.

Yes, on OSI servers they would always give the deed back since they were first introduced, so far as I know. We ensure that special deeded return as a deed here, which isn't in line with the regular mechanics, but is in line with the intent for special deed only items.

Then shouldn't auto events be in game to compensate for the lack of real life content creators?

There sure isn't a lot of them anymore like there was in 1999.

It wouldn't be in line with regular mechanics, but it would be in line with the intent.

There's currently 2 "on-going World events" for players to participate in and push. There are also multiple events ran during the week. You can find an active list here:

viewforum.php?f=148

Daily games (Potion Wars, Monster Bash, etc) are not logged on the forum and occur at random, to reward players who are actually attentive instead of someone who is just putting up a calendar alert to login for the pre/during/post game.

Good luck proving intent.

I'll clarify what I mean when I say "the intent". I'm speaking directly to our intent for the items, not the intent that OSI had for them.
