Single-clicking on Moongates

Post by SighelmofWyrmgard »

I had wondered about this for a long while: while researching something else, I stumbled upon this,

from, Publish 3 Patchnotes from UOGuide (Feb 23, 2000),
Moongates

Single clicking the left mouse button on a moongate will give you a description of what lies through the gate. This will allow you to know where the gate is currently going without having to jump through them over and over again until you reach your destination. This will help improve server performance as less players will need to “jump” through moongates.
So, we should not have this behaviour active on our Moongates.

This was a change included in one of our early patches, although I don't know exactly which one (it was in place as early as March 2009), back before we had a well defined cutoff date for mechanics. It should probably be updated to remove the descriptions. Thanks for the heads up on this.
