I've been meaning to make this post for a while now. Last summer I had collected a good amount of MIBs. Seeing how much they were being sold for, I was curious how much profit people make who actually buy them. I myself have never purchased one but have fished up many. Now of course for those of you old forum savvy vets this has been done before, in an awesome post by Daolin a couple years ago.

viewtopic.php?f=9&t=14748

But I figured, why not do it again? If I'm going to fish all these up, why not record the data? More data is always better. So for reference purposes, here is the loot that 100 fished up MIBs got me. I may not have kept as extensive of data as Daolin did, but enjoy. Keep in mind that with this data I did not sell any items to other players. All items listed were either GLD, items kept, or items sold to vendors for GLD.

Chest Levels
Level 1 - 30
Level 2 - 32
Level 3 - 38

Gold from chests:
209,959 GLD

Gold from monsters:
(you may not want to count this but I did, it is gold that I accumulated killing all of the serps and water eles I came across while fishing up the MIBs)
26,268 GLD

Silver Metal Chests (kept)
5

Gold Rimmed Metal Chests (kept)
8

Junk Items
(only kept armor fortified and above and weapons force and above unless they were some crap like a knives. all other "junk" including stuff with useless charges was ID'd and sold to vendors)
1362 items = 76,515 GLD

190 shipwrecked items, of that kept:
- 34 paintings
- 30 pillows
- 7 unfinished barrels
- 15 bone piles

Jewels
I don't know how many but all sold for maximum profit to vendors for:
46,230 GLD

Scrolls
1,040 total of 40 different type
Of that, 41 recall and 22 mark saved
The rest sold for maximum profit to vendors for:
22,605 GLD

Total GLD collected:
381,577 GLD

Reagents (kept):
806 nightshade
838 blood moss
1079 ash
868 ginseng
1005 black pearl
827 silk
793 mandrake
953 garlic

Anyone know how many man hours it took to do all this? Was it worth the time? You could sell those 100 MIBs for 200-300k with no effort. Is that extra gold and all those items equal to the amount of time it took to do this?

Sorry I missed the question earlier. It's hard to say how long it took because I did it over a long stretch of time, fishing up a dozen here and a dozen there over the course of a month or two. It wasn't my sole focus. However, I just kept stockpiling the chests untouched and once I was at 100 then I sorted and recorded the data.

There are definitely efficient ways to fish up bulk MIBs with UOAM as Telamon said. And doing it that way I would guess yes it's worth the time. I will admit doing only about a dozen or so at a time I was not operating as fast as I could. It was just a no-risk side thing to do every so often so I wasn't super worried about time.

Is the chest level random and how does one determine its level? Thanks in advance!

I'm not an expert, but as far as I know, there
is no way to know until you fish it up.

Completely random

Nice statistics, i also did more than my fair share of 100 MiB runs and my stats are almost identical to yours, so if it means anything to ya'll i can verify that this info is pretty accurate and i would say safe you assume your going to get this amount of gold/loot/resources every 100 MiBs you run.
