What is the most profitable cloth item to make for max gold if I resell to an NPC?
Same for leather? To tailor and then sell, what is the most profitable?

And last question, can I gm off studded gorgets or do I need to switch to studded tunics?
Thanks,
Alden

Fancy shirts for cloth, leather arms and gorgets (not studded) for leather.

And yes, you can GM off Studded Gorgs.

I setup my macro as follows:
!Loop
Assistant.Macros.HotKeyAction|0|Restock Agent-1
Assistant.Macros.AbsoluteTargetAction|0|0|1075797411|4320|1037|13|3646
Assistant.Macros.PauseAction|00:00:02
Assistant.Macros.DoubleClickTypeAction|3997|True
Assistant.Macros.WaitForTargetAction|30
Assistant.Macros.TargetTypeAction|False|5990
Assistant.Macros.WaitForMenuAction|0|300
Assistant.Macros.MenuResponseAction|2|8059|0
Assistant.Macros.WaitForMenuAction|0|300
Assistant.Macros.MenuResponseAction|9|7939|0
Assistant.Macros.PauseAction|00:00:10.5000000
Assistant.Macros.DoubleClickAction|1075849328|3999
Assistant.Macros.WaitForTargetAction|30
Assistant.Macros.TargetTypeAction|False|7939
Assistant.Macros.PauseAction|00:00:02

Sometimes it will execute the first round perfectly and then the second loop it will freeze up on the first
Wait for menu (any). Ive added a bunch of pauses but that didnt seem to fix it.

My current setup is cloth is in box and I use restock agent to get the needed cloth then I click by type on 1 of 20ish sewing kits I wait 10.5 seconds and then click by type scissors and click robe by type.

A second problem is sometimes when it comes to cutting up the robes it will say that item is too far away or scissors cant be used to create something.

Any ideas......Thanks

Out of range could be that razor is "seeing" a robe that isn't in your pack.

ya its weird ive setup the target as by type and even retargeted it several times and recreated the same type of macro but still same problems.

When it was sorta working I was still having problems cutting up the created item and eventually i would become to heavy and the items would spill over onto the ground.

Definitely sounds like razor is trying target a robe it can't reach. You can't have a robe in the open or have opened a container with a robe in it w/o logging off/on again. I'd make absolutely sure that you don't have something like that happening.

mikanele, i had a look at your macro and noticed a few things that are probably causing your issues.

first, you need to change your target by type cut cloth to absolute target. what i believe the problem is you have your restock agent amount set to 16 (for one robe). when you run your macro and make your first robe, all the cloth in your pack obviously disappears and razor restocks 16 new cloth for the next round. BUT, razor is also seeing the cut cloth in your restock container which is causing your macro to hang on the wait for target line, since razor is trying to target the cut cloth in that container and not your pack.

the fix for this is to set your restock amount to +2 of whatever quantity of materials are required to actually make the item. this way you can target the cloth in your pack by absolute target instead, and since there will always be at least 2 cloth left over in your pack, razor will keep the correct cloth target associated for the macro. so start with 18 cloth in your pack and set your restock amount to 18. the restock amount is what razor will attempt to restock UP to, depending on the actual amount left over in your pack. for example, if you have 2 cloth in your pack razor will restock 16; if you have 10 cloth in your pack, razor will only restock 8.

you also don't actually have the line where you double click the scrissors set to by type. it's set to the actual pair of scrissors that i'm assuming are in your pack. though that's really not a big deal, i just wanted to point it out.

for your second problem i have to agree with duul that razor is trying to target a robe that it sees even though it's out of range. this can be caused by opening containers in your house that have robes in them prior to starting your macro. even if those containers are no longer open on your screen, the fact that they had been opened at all allowed razor to see the contents and remember what was in them. another possibility is if the house you are macroing in is in close proximity to other houses, where you can actually see the contents in another house if the roof has glitched off. if there is a robe lying on the floor of that house, razor will also see that and attempt to target it by type. just something to be aware of.

for the part where you recut the newly made robe you could do something like:

If ( SysMessage "create" )
double click scissors
target robe in your pack (by type)
End If

all that would do is only attempt to cut up a robe if you actually made one in the first place. it won't fix razor trying to target a robe that's out of range (if you haven't got that part sorted out already).

anyways, i hope this helps you figure everything out.

As TheManWithNoName said, you definitely need to make sure your restock is setup so that you never actually run out of the cloth and use Absolute Target. I've done my fair share of crafting. :D

I would typically have a For Loop that would run X amount of times, we'll say 10 times, then i'd restock. When i'd restock i'd get enough cloth to make it through 4 circuits (40 attempts) in case a world save or lag messed up my restock. That way i'd never run out of cloth and never break my macro.

Just wanted to add an update as I couldn't find it through the thread.

From 95-99.8 you can do studded arms on about 6k hides if you cut what you make. Not sure if it goes to gm I switched to studded tunics for the last .2

Has anyone done this lately, that maybe has some updated numbers for total resources needed and which items to do at what skill level? I'm currently going to go off of Hicha's numbers from a page back, except I'm going to try to stay away from studded tunics as long as possible...

Just a quick update - I've got through the cloth part of this and was a tad bit higher in cloth used. Probably closer to 25k.

Edit - also, anyone had problem getting a restock agent to work with cut cloth? I've used one for all sorts of things but I could not get it to work while doing this tailoring...

Someone posts tailoring guide that makes some sense and is simple enough to follow.

Many thanks for these guidelines, I've just reached GM Tailor and the macro served me well. Basically I just gathered all the cloth from a few visits to the sheep and cotton farms, and then gathered the leather using the gating between tanners method. The character I used started training with 100 dexterity if that makes a difference, and I ended up finishing with 4,553 spare cloth and 2,229 spare leather. Regarding the tanners method I did notice that the amount of leather available didn't double upon respawn as I'd expected, at least not consistently. I never managed to get the vendors up to 999, the highest I reached was somewhere around 260. I visited each one every hour and bought everything but despite that the respawn never seemed to boost the amount as much as I'd hoped.

But meh, s'a minor niggle, just thought I'd mention it in case anyone knew why it happened.

Anyway, time to hit the needle and thread, so thank you very much !
