how can i include, can you explain please?

I'm currently running a macro that is just:
UseSKill Provocation
Absolute Target
Target Self

I've had no problems getting to 90. I'm not sure why anyone would have a different macro, aside from avoiding the spam that is.

That macro works just fine. I just said the "if fail" then pause 5 secs because it will save you a lot of time when at lower skill level.

Say: guards *(optional)*
Use Skill: Provocation
Wait for Target
Absolute Target
Wait for Target
Exec: Target Self
Pause .50sec
If (SysMessage "succeeds")
Pause 10.00sec
Else
Pause 5.00sec
End if

loop

Hey all coming back after a long long hiatus. Sick of all the other mmo's

Anyway... what other skills do you normally have with ur bards?

I'm thinking:

music
provo
mage
med
eval
resist
hiding (?)
....

i'd say wrestling is more important than resist, especially in the case of getting pked. personally i'd get both and drop hiding or eval.

Eval is only really good if you plan to fight. If you are going to recall at the first sight of a red I would go with:

music
provo
mage
med
WRESTLING
resist
hiding (!)

Hiding is great while you watch those dragons or gazers kill each other.
Resist is good because you never know when it might save your ass.
Wrestling is a must because it really sucks to die when your recall is interrupted.

I have been trying this guide. macro runs fine but my provo gains seem painfully slow, after hours of running the macro in a house with a trapped monster i am at 20.7 provo.

does this seem normal?

I GM'd music before i did this.

I as well find the gains extremely slow even at the low levels. Currently running a macro in the stables for a couple of hours, but am at 15.8 prov. Does having GM'd music having something to do with it?

You can buy up to 30 I believe and it should be an over night macro fest to gm.

2 days sounds reasonable in 3 you should have it gm. I may be remembering full days of macroing and not just overnight in which case 3 overnight sessions to 90 is not bad.

I just have to throw my 2 cents in here about how ridiculously slow Provo grinding is. My musicianship is GM.

First, I went to the Conservatory of music in Brit and they couldn't train me past 24.7 so I gave up and went back to macroing.

Now, I get some strange lag problems that were throwing off my macros so I fixed that and set it to an 11 second delay in between each loop just to be safe. I came back to check and I was at 24.9. After something like a half hour. Ok so I figured maybe my macro was messed up and sat and watched, counting my success to failure rates and seeing how long it would take me to go from 25 to 25.1

6 success vs. 12 failure and on the 6th success I gained my .1 point.

AT 25 SKILL. Really? Why is it so slow?

At this point I'm wishing I could use campfires and the rapid camping gains to burn down the Conservatory of Music. I cringe to think of how long it will take once it's leveled up a bit and they start slowing down the gains to .1 every hundred successes.

I know that just leaving a macro running all night isn't that big of a deal but it just seems pretty unbalanced that some skills like provo and taming are so hard to level and others like swordsmanship can be gained so quickly.

Is this normal or is my character 'special' and therefore should be re-rolled or given a padded leather helmet?
