You now need 50.1 detect to use this method. Fortunately, gaining to 50.1 is easy.

I see alot of people still spamming detect hidden at the banks to gain this skill, so I am going to share my method to GM it in 37 minutes from 0 without even buying the skill to 30.

Place a trapped box in the middle of your house and record a razor macro for
Do not use target by type.

Once you have this setup, place as many additional trapped boxes as you can as close to the original box as possible. Once you have a mountain of boxes run the macro. It will detect the box in the middle, and the range of the skill will attempt to detect the boxes around it. You have a chance to gain for each box you attept to detect. If you can fit 100 boxes in the range of the skill, you will gain 100 times faster. It took me 37 minutes from 0 to gm (the gains were slow the first 10 minutes) using a pile of 65 boxes, but you can use however many you like, even if it's only 2, it will be twice as fast as spamming that annoying skill at the bank.

Definitely going to give this a try.

I remember on OSI we use to go to the Wrong ogre lord area because it was filled with traps. Gaining was very, very fast there, even with the slower OSI gains.

I can sell you trapped boxes at almost at-cost prices (about 120gp per), but I am afraid I cannot let you inside my home.

I did this with 6 trapped boxes and it took about 8 hours, so I can see 65 boxes taking less than an hour for sure. Nice guide Matron!

I dunno about 0-GM in 37 minutes, but here's what I got from trying this method.

I had 70 trapped chests, and gains were VERY slow until I hit 51.0 shown skill. That's when the skill started to skyrocket.

Are you sure it was from 0-GM and not 50-GM?

the detection range probably increases with skill level making more chests available per skill use. thereby increasing the gain rate

below 51 your prob only examining a few chests so gains are slow

I had 7 trapped boxes stacked up (with the targetted absolute target being the one on the bottom)

From 0-51, I believe it took a couple of hours, if not more. As I mentioned earlier, the skill gain jumps were unbelieveable.
