Summoned daemon...
My friend summoned a daemon on his boat that killed me. When he cast dispell on it, it killed him. Shouldnt he have poofed and been gone?

Re: Summoned daemon...
yeah i kinda figured thats what happened, but I thought for some reason that the one who summoned can dispel it 100% of the time.

You can just release it.Berock Shagando wrote:yeah i kinda figured thats what happened, but I thought for some reason that the one who summoned can dispel it 100% of the time.
[14:17] <UOSAPlayer4056> cr3w guild is a joke. Ran by staff members, multi client pking, this shards a joke and a half.

Re: Summoned daemon...
hahaha, the things that can happen in UO.
Re: Summoned daemon...
On a similar note, at what point did summoned creatures start saying "Summoned" by them? I know at some point summoned pets didn't say that because I would rename my Deamon to scare people off.
Re: Summoned daemon...
That's a great question. I don't remember them having this tag in era either. Will look into this.
This is what the demo shows:

Re: Summoned daemon...
after we were both dead, i told him to release it. It didnt work. He tried renaming it even and still didnt work. Apparently they dont take orders from dead masters. they must have low SS lol.
Re: Summoned daemon...
On this note, I never recall (tame) tags either...or things like (guarded) poping up.
Is this a client thing perhaps?

I agree. The (summoned) and (guarded) and (tame) tags are NEA according to my memory.
I am skeptical of (frozen) as well.

Re: Summoned daemon...
Frozen is another that isn't. For example, corpsers never said 'frozen'. In fact, these 'labels' are something I don't recall seeing until I started on free shards. So I would even be willing to bet they are post UO:R (or late UO:R).Rose wrote:I agree. The (summoned) and (guarded) and (tame) tags are NEA according to my memory.

I scanned some patch notes but didn't find anything
Re: Summoned daemon...
The tame tag as show in the image above is from 1998 OSi, but other screenshots from era have verified these tags. I'm not sure about (summoned).
