Ghosts controlling boats is era accurate. Sometimes on UOSA it seems to take the commands of people closer to the tillerman or something, I am not really sure personally. In T2A however, anyone on the boat would have their commands obeyed immediately, ghosts and unghosts, regardless of their possesion of key, or status as owner of the boat. In that respect I think that UOSA is inaccurate in these regards, however, the answer to your original question on ghosts controlling boats is that yes, it is in fact accurate.

Never heard of a ghost ship? =)

How elce would you get back to land if you died at sea.

Can only imagine the amount of pages that would get on a real osi server back in the day.

Ive sailed the seas many years. Both back in era and here on UOSA. From what I've experienced they are identical.

If alone on a boat at any time, key or no key, dead or not, the tillerman will obey you. If there is more than one person on the boat but noone is holding the key, the tillerman will obey the commands of whoever is closest to him. If there are multiple people on the boat and someone has the key in their bag, the tillerman will only obey the commands of the keyholder. I do not know what will happen if there are two people, both holding keys. Probably would obey the one closest

wether holding a key or not the tillerman will obey the person closest to him , unless that person is a ghost and there is someone alive on the boat.

thats how it was on osi.

i remember sleathing onto ppls boats after they unlocked n walked on them , thinking they were fast enough that no one else got on, i cuddle up next to the till invised and they couldnt move the boat.
theyd get closer trying to fig it out and id take the key and run off the boat , wait for them to goto the bank for thier other key then id deed the boat and bank it or sell it 1/2 price to a player heh.

we dont have young player status as shown http://www.uosecondage.com/Rules
hence no instant rez (which is lame and was added roughly around our cutoff date hence why its left out)
