How to lock down house keys?

Post by Range »

Hi
I am back in the game after several years and just bought my first house. How do I lock the keys down outside so I don't have to carry them on me? I seem to remember being able to do this and have seen a lot of houses done like this, probably so friends and/or co-owners can get inside.

Also trying to figure out the trash barrel security system. Does everyone just carry an ax or ax like tool on them? I tried locking one down and it was unusable. I tried putting it in a container and a grey player could remove it. Any tips?
It's a small house so I don't have the luxury of multiple secure containers.

Hello! Welcome to UOSA, and congrats on the new house!

To lock down a house key you have to:
1.- Put key in keyring
2.- Place 3 small tables on your steps
3.- Place 1 book, fishsteak, bottle, bloodmoss (whatever as long as it raises the spot 1 on the z-axis)
4.- Put the keyring ontop of that
5.- Lock it down and walk away

Easiest way to set up the trash barrel system is indeed with a secure container next to the trash barrel. Some people roll mostly tank mages so will always carry a halbred wich also gets the job done. Otherwise, always carry a hatchet or axe.

Why bother locking it? Just make it open to the public. Your stuff is still secure.

If you pick the right 3rd skill when you create a new character and give that 3rd skill 1 point...you'll get a newbie hatchet.

Quite useful for axing those trash barrels even after an untimely death. ;)

Locked down keys usable only by friends of the house are not only "not era accurate" they are a vile exploit running rampant through uosa-brittania! GM's, please fix this.

How does this work then, if you lock it down up high like everyone does? You just double click key ring while locked down to unlock, open door, then relock?

Actually, a small with a proper table barrier is quite secure. Our guild "vault", where we store our guild's treasure, is a public small house.

OK wait a minute. How can you loot a public house with secure containers?
