This has been a problem from time to time and I've never known how to fix it. It turns out this is due to a corrupt "speech.mul" file (Thanks to Sanquin Magus)

This file is now available here: http://uosecondage.com/misc/speech.zip
Unzip and drop in in your "Ultima Online" folder. It's always good advice to back up the original file before overwriting.

I've tried this method, but I am still having a problem. I'm just trying to buy reagents, but shopkeepers ignore me still.

Be sure that both conditions are true before applying this patch. If you can "bank" then this is not your problem and do not need these files. There have been reports on these files breaking an otherwise functional client.

Remember to address the vendor, as in "vendor buy" or "vendor sell", or "<name> buy".
To bank, just say "bank" in the vicinity of a banker.

I cannot get the healers inside town to rez me unless I run in and out of their shop several times. this has been a problem for me since I first started playing here over a week ago. Is there something I can do to fix this?

This can happen if when they notice you, you are in a spot in which you cannot be resurrected, such as in a doorway, or on top of another player. They only offer to resurrect when you enter their range, so you must approach them in such a way that you will not be on top of another object when you reach that spot.
