i did it all by hand, its a good way to gain extra mining skill

I know the gains are worth it (atleast until the 70's).BlackFoot wrote:i did it all by hand, its a good way to gain extra mining skill
Im not doing anything unattended with mining. It would be nice that when i go to smelt i could put 30 or so ore in my bag and run a macro to turn 1 stack of 30 into 30 stacks of 1 that i could then quickly smelt without fear of loss.
Anything?

put it in a bag and use the restock agent to pull one at a time.Hoots wrote:I know the gains are worth it (atleast until the 70's).BlackFoot wrote:i did it all by hand, its a good way to gain extra mining skill

Re: Smelting ore 1 x 1
you should be doing this all the way to gm.. not until 70s, to gm minign faster
and even at gm mining you shoudl be doign it with valorite ore

Re: Smelting ore 1 x 1
not working, i pick the stack of ore for the item which is in a small brown square bag/cpntainer.getan wrote: put it in a bag and use the restock agent to pull one at a time.
set quantiy to 1 then when i restock i select the bag with the ore and it say "reatock done, queued zero items"
am i missing something or doesnt this work for ore?
Re: Smelting ore 1 x 1
DON'T SMELT ill buy it all unsmelted form you
Re: Smelting ore 1 x 1
What I did was I would select 1 or 2 or whatever... I did it in stacks of 2 because when you fail you lose 1 either way so it makes no difference. Once I selected 2 I would click in a corner of my backpack somewhere so taht it is dropped in my backpack. I do not drop it on my character or on may paperdoll backpack because then it auto stacks it. Dropping it in the corner keeps it unstacked. Then just smelt away.
You could make a razor macro to do this too. Just have it mimic exactly what you do. I suggest at least .5 second pauses because otherwise due to lag and such it could get all screwed up.

Re: Smelting ore 1 x 1
I couldn’t ever get a smelting macro figured out. I tried restocks and organizers, but the fundamental problem is you always had more than one stack of ore (the small and the big one) within sight of razor. You couldn’t smelt by absolute item because the small pile’s ID kept changing. You couldn’t smelt by type because the big item would be a “type” and half or more of the time it would target the big pile.
Now that I am several months wiser from those days, the use once agent is likely the way out of the rabbit hole. It's how I've gotten around the many items targeted problem for other macros.
Try fiddling with the use once agent by dropping a small pile of ore in a bag with nothing else in it, then run the use once agent to set the small pile of ore in the bag as the use once item. Then try and smelt the use once item. It’s probably going to take more time than manually doing it, but it might be afkable. If you don’t care to AFK it, the organizer agent to pull two ore into a specific bag should work for you, set a timer, then double click the ore manually, then have the macro take back over and do the actual smelt. You’ll have to make sure the timer gives you enough time to manually double click the ore pile. That’s the only “active” thing required by you so it should speed it up and take some of the pain out of it.
