Game: Secret Agent

Secret Agent.
Secret Agent is a game that is tailored toward sneaky rogues and mischievous gameplay.

Please leave all newbie weapons, reagents, bandages, and tools at home (or your bank). Newbie or blessed clothing and spellbooks are allowed.

How to Play Secret Agent
You begin Secret Agent as a freshly revived player with full hit points. You’re trapped in a house with many other enemy Agents.

The game begins as soon as you’re alive and ends when only one Agent is left. You can use any means necessary to kill each other (with the exception of any newbie items you may have smuggled in). This includes activating traps and spawns, using weapons found in the home, using your fists, using potions, using wand effects, and using tinker traps.

Image

The House
The house is filled with containers, levers, and switches hidden in plain sight (try double-clicking ANYTHING, you never know what might be a switch!). Supplies will spawn in containers (chests and bookshelves) as well as on the floor or on tables.

You will find various supplies while in the house. Any items found in static containers will need to be stolen in order to obtain them. Having 100 stealing is beneficial, but anything over 50 should place you in a fairly good spot. You do not need to be in the thieves guild to play Secret Agent, but it does you give an edge.

PRO TIP: It is a great idea to steal or pick up any and all items you can. Each tile or container has a limit on how many items it can hold. If it has items you don’t want in it, you need to take those before a new item can spawn.

The Supplies
Supplies will spawn on the ground and in containers. Weapons that spawn use your character’s hiding skill when checking your hit rate, instead of their normal skill check.

- Lockpicks
- Clothing
- Cloth
- Scissors
- Potions
- Reagents (you can cast Spell Circles 1, 2, 3, or 4 in the house)
- Arrows
- Tinker Tools
- Ingots
- Armor
- Wands (debuff, heal, damage spells, ID)
- A dagger (functions as expected)
- A shortsighted bow (max range 4, requires arrows)
- A blowgun (looks like a black staff, max range 4, does not require arrows, it is slow)

The Trickery
You will find switches and levers in the home. There are obvious switches and levers, and some are hidden in plain sight. There are between 7 and 12 levers in the house. Pulling these levers will have a variety of effects…

You might poison everyone in the house.
You might reveal all the hidden players.
You might activate/spawn a series of traps.
You might even spawn an army of ogres.

These levers are shuffled every few games to keep it fresh, so be careful when pulling those levers, it might cost you your own life.

Strategy for Playing Secret Agent
There are endless ways to approach this game. The following skills are all valid and valuable in this game.

- Blacksmithing, create yourself a weapon or armor with ingots you find.
- Detect Hidden, detect Agents and traps.
- Healing, if you find scissors and cloth, you can make bandages.
- Hiding, for hiding and using weapons.
- Item Identification, for identifying magical wands you find.
- Lockpicking, to pick (some) chests. 80 skill required.
- Magery, to use a few of the reagents found in the house to cast 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th circle spells.
- Magic Resist, to prevent wand damage from hurting you as much.
- Remove Trap, remove traps placed by any tinkering Agents.
- Snooping, to rob your enemies easier.
- Stealing, for stealing items.
- Stealth, get around other Agents easier.
- Tactics, to make those punches hurt!
- Tinkering, set traps.
- Tracking, find players who may be hidden
- Wrestling, if you have no weapon, wrestling is your next best defense or offense.

I'm out of town for the weekend. I'll have a few matches this coming week and maybe we can get one of our reputable players to stream/record the event so we have a video to include in the OP.

Now that people have started to catch on to strategies, the games have gotten far more interesting and hilarious to watch. I suggest everyone gives this unique game a whirl!

Agreed! I finally branched out into learning the switches/levers which expanded my method of play. This is a pretty strategic based char making and playing game. Lots of fun! Thanks Boom!

Maybe we could have a spectator spot for people to watch but no LoS to see what is going on and might want to make a secret agent!

That can be arranged very easily actually. The table/throne I sit on could have some extra seating options.

sounds like a fantastic puzzle game for thieves.

i know a few people who run as a theif or rogue types in my guild.

it would be great to use a full spectrum of char designs in order to accomplish tasks.

the team effort and char selection would be really fun.

i'd like to give it a try sometime :)

thanks for the games!
