Get volunteers together with a designated location to greet and teach them basics before they venture out into the harsh lands?

Let them figure it out themselves? If they can't they have no business staying here.

If I bring over a HUGE community of RP'ers will you help?

Post by SirEricKain »

Hi Everyone,

I've been scouring the net in search for large scale forums that recruit for MMORPG games and have been getting a hefty amount of interest from players whom never experienced a game like UO.

My intent here is to get an idea of how I will go about welcoming these visitors, most if not all will be completely new to the game.

I lead a very busy life outside this game and am afraid I will not be able to accommodate a flood of people with my limited UO time.

This will be a poll to get us talking about how we approach a sudden influx of players and KEEP THEM HERE.

Let's make this happen people!

*Not a scam*

Are you giving these roleplayers fair warning as to what it's going to be like here?

Roleplayers be like - It does my heart good to see the fine fellows of fine mirth doingest as what thine bodies shall alloweth them to do.

Elk Eater be like - DIE NOOBS!

I tell them it's a harsh land, potential thieves in town and the dangers of the outside world.

The element of hardship and death either excites them or scares them away.

OK Kain it's up to you now.....

I've set up a macro house, got macro weps/aids, etc. set up. I need GM weps for archery, fencing, swords, mace that you can help with. You can either provide me the ingots and wood to make them, or make them yourself.

I also need regs to make the kegs, bottles, and bandages.

Feel free to PM me with how YOU want to help, and I'll work with you.

Let's be clear, you didn't bring anyone over, but you are going to help them succeed here on UOSA. The Captain is in charge and will let you assist in their success. Yar!

Between you and HC there is plenty of play time to instruct and help new players. Work together and that's about all you will need. Now start being them over!!

Hardcore brought me here. He has been a ton of help. I ran into another orc today, and they were shocked to see another orc, They were going to let the other orcs know to log on sometime that they have contact with. We are not fluffy panzi rp'rs we are ORCS!

Not now, with the low player base, but before it- definitely.

Perhaps I would. I've learned most things here about UO mainly by asking. The first thing I'll suggest is they make a provoke toon, to fund a mage, then maybe a tamer for the big bucks. I could walk them through it step by step.
