Yeah, I know what you mean driz.

Hawkins list of changes is a good overview that shows the updates to the housing system. That last update in '00 needs to be rectified and fixed here as I stated above. This would add some of the "older" house placements that existed like the uneven land houses, etc...

i was just refering to being able to place them, with lesser constrictions. i wasnt thinking about the pre-t2a house placement rules. i think hawkins actually posted it in the post above mine. im pretty sure u know what i mean tho.

sorry for the thread hijack, but when i saw the topic on "houses" i always seem to think of this, and how completely amazing it would be to have those "improperly placed" houses linning the roads and making some really cool new pvp spots.
I agree. I'm going to try to loosen housing rules slightly.

I am seriously considering getting rid of the "preview" as well.

Yes, That would be very amazeing. It would be historically acurate AND build on the open ended game play that made t2a great.

This is on the list of things to do. It's going to take some time to figure out exactly how to make changes that are reasonable and more accurate. Hopefully, along with this will come faster placement as well. I know that placement of large houses such as castles currently can take up to ten seconds.

If you're talking about chessie, I placed a lot of those in mid-late '99.
On some of them, you'd say *ouch* if you walked off the wrong side of the steps
