I read the first few pages and was completely dumbfounded by everyones lack of comprehension of the OP.

If this shard wants to grow, and attract new players. YES limit the housing. Fuk era accuracy. However, I dont want to be forced to creat multiple accounts just to own more houses. Its a double edged sword. Possibly a limit of houses per IP, not accounts. Or, have the player base agree to stop refreshing empty houses for people who dont play, wich of course, is not enforcable. Now if you are one of those people who has 15 spots held, and refreshes another 30 for other players, can you understand what you are doing to those that want to play the game?

I have seen empty spots. It is not currently an issue. But if the shard continues growing, it WILL become a major problem. Putting something into place now could save everyone from a huge headache later.

I kinda agree with DarkWings logic...I mean honestly if that person doesnt even play here, however some other folks are just friended or co owned keeping that property alive, why keep that property? its technically owned by someone who doesnt even use this server. Why should that stop people who USE this server from getting a place (granted this will only be in the future as you should be able to find a spot for almost anything cept maybe keep and castle)

i remember that back in the days, at one day, you could onyl have one house per account, and all accounts with more than one were grandfathered... was that UOR ?

i agree that we should limit the number of houses, however the shard would look much more empty and maybe scare some players ?

less house spots give more work for a noob to get a house by buying it or finding the spot, which means more interesting for him...

because we all know that most of the noobs come here to play, reach a limit of house/goods/fights, then get bored and leave... so the longest it is for them to reach that limit the bigger the population will be..

Yeah that was included right with the UOR patch.
I don't remember the exact details since it was so long ago, but if I remember correctly then they started running into problems with people abusing housing on 14 day trial accounts and co owning or friending their main account.
It's hard to think of the exact details since It was such a long time ago but didn't cancelled accounts houses become condemned automatically because of this?
Like I said, I don't remember the exact circumstances so someone can probably provide exact details, but I do remember that it created more of a housing issue than ever before

I like how randoms are lecturing about how to grow the only shard that is currently growing by preaching a break from era accuracy, lawl.

i think 'the randoms' are just speaking their opinion, whether or not they are implying that what they are saying has to be done is a different subject.

Isnt the ENTIRE nature of this game to be a community...err excuse me MASSIVE MULTIPLAYER...so what I believe is going on is that some of these 'randoms/OTHER MULTIPLAYERS OF THIS GAME' are voicing their opinions...no point in trying to put them down or pretend your better by making stupid ass comments like that. I mean was that last comment really necessary? did it make you feel better? did it make anybody else feel better? seriously, I think you just wasted 10secs of your life :

lol, you mad?

I'm pretty sure 96% of my posts in this thread have been along the lines of: Stop talking about it, it's a waste of your time, nothing is going to change, it's era accurate don't touch it, stop suggesting things because it's already in place and not going to be changed, stop, stop stop.

Do you really think they're going to "change" anything just because you had a civilized discussion about it? No. Why? Because it's not era accurate.

not pressed on it.. i done read your tired posts 30 times and like you said you just say the same nothing everytime. there is no harm in talking about things. nothing would ever change if no one ever talked about it.

clearly if things were going to be changed it probably would have happened by now.

I JUST WANT TO CHIME IN BECAUSE IM JUST THAT SUPER AWESOME

I own

three castles a keep and numerous towers/patios/smalls and I don't think theres a problem with the housing at all!

Going out of era accuracy to correct this "issue" as you would call it (because you're all idiots who thinks there is a problem with housing) would be retarded.

PUT IT THIS WAY

Remember how IMPOSSIBLE it was to place a house during the t2a era? You were pretty much f'd back then if you started mid to late era, and wanted any kind of house other than a small without paying out the asshole.

THE END.

P.S

I like to go PS at the end of my writings.

no... if you read you will see that i have stated there is not a major problem with housing.. i simply said it is not correct. it can become a problem later. also the shard "looks" fuller than it really is because of all these houses.. i guess thats what we are going for?
Remember how IMPOSSIBLE it was to place a house during the t2a era? You were pretty much fucked back then if you started mid to late era, and wanted any kind of house other than a small without paying out the asshole.
Do you also remember how there were tons and tons of people who actually played during t2a? so many people in fact that the housing problem was very real.. my point is the housing here is like that but the truth is we have like 500 people playing tops... not thousands. it's not true to form. all those houses you see are fluff to make it appear more filled than it really is.

P.S. thanks for reading.

I'd rather have the fluff than dead space.
