This thread in no way made me give to UOSA and I do not expect to be in the raffle. I have had such a great time the last 3 months since I started I will be donating every month. I am not sure what all goes on behind the scenes keeping UOSA running but I am sure it is not cheap. I am glad chumbucket started this thread cause it pushed me towards giving to something I gave to 13+ years ago.

Thank you to all the people who helped with our fundraiser! I think it was a pretty good success.

Over the course of the fundraiser we had 19 participants and raised nearly $500 beyond the usual subscriptions. I am currently trying to figure out a way to randomly choose a winner in game. Derrick has given me code names and numbered the 19 folks who will be included in the raffle. In the interest of transparency, I will post the code names and numbers once I know how I’m going to do the drawing.

Any help from math nerds on how to make the UO dice (2d6) make a random 1-19 would be appreciated. I have an idea that doesn't involve dice, but I have to test it to see if it will work properly.

I would like to get this done in game either tonight or tomorrow night. I’ll post the specifics later today I hope.

Awesome. Well done everyone. Let's make this a yearly thing for sure.

Okay, here is how the raffle will work. Each person will be assigned 1 combination of a 2d6 roll result and I will roll until someone’s combination comes up. There are 19 participants and 36 possible die rolls, so I am hoping for a little drama with the dice!

Example: Megatron is assigned 2 , 5 If the first die lands on 2 and the second die is 5 he would win.

If work isn't too crazy, I’ll log in at lunch to do this at 12:30 CST. I’ll make an announcement in IRC to try to get an audience. If today doesn't work out I’ll get it done tomorrow for sure.

Here are the code names for the 19 participants and their dice assignments:

1 - kiltish............1 , 2
2 - a.n...............1 , 5
3 - Cane.............1 , 6
4 - dfw...............2 , 1
5 - Stalker...........2 , 3
6 - 46.................2 , 5
7 - Bran..............3 , 2
8 - Farm..............3 , 4
9 - gel................3 , 5
10 - IJ................4 , 1
11 - hows............4 , 4
12 - Sebben.........7 , 7
13 - Speedy.........4 , 6
14 - Bright...........5 , 2
15 - #2...............5 , 3
16 - Bud..............5 , 4
17 - Lin...............6 , 1
18 - Spring...........6 , 2
19 – Crosses.........6 , 5

Is it too late to donate and get in on this?

Edit:

Looks like it is. Still going to donate, though. Thanks Derrick and staff! This server is a remarkable thing.

Derrick made code names that he said each person should be able to recognize. Did you make a donation within the window? Was it over and above your usual subscription? This was a fundraiser to make extra cash for the shard.

If you feel like you meet all these requirements and cant figure out the code name let me know asap.

Okay, a mistake on my part. The codenames were made so that Derrick would recognize them but not give away any personal info. Sorry for the confusion.

Okay, all done. Gel won with a 3 , 5. GK added a second prize haircut deed at the last minute and Farm won with a 3 , 4.

I would like to thank everyone for their help in supporting the shard!

I'll give Derrick the info who will make sure the winners get their prize.

Winner, feel free to post! I'm sure everyone will be curious.
