Revisit: Fizzling because you double click while casting
Basically, I am just unconvinced for this is right. My main reason for thinking this is inaccurate is that whenever I crash here, and re-log on, I fizzle my first spell because my backpack and the like are opening automatically. But, this should be no different than OSI, where I crashed countless times, and where this did not seem to happen.
Is this in the demo or something?
Does anybody truly remember this?

I will agree that when i open my client i am now "trained" to wait for all containers to open.Fwerp wrote:Basically, I am just unconvinced for this is right. This is something i do not remember from production and assumed was due to razor opening the bags.
Did OSI auto open up all your bags like you had it? I really dont remember.
Re: Revisit: Fizzling because you double click while casting
Opening a bag while you are casting does not make you fizzle once you target...
Opening a bag while you have a spell target up and then targetting does not make you fizzle...
Just checked on the demo.

Re: Revisit: Fizzling because you double click while casting
That is how it used to be here, and then a patch came in that if you used any items while precasted you would fizzle.tekai wrote:Oh snap, Using pots with a precast cursor up ?
I think I've heard Derrick (possibly) mention this was wrong recently, I think it's already known.

The opening is done by Razor I think.
I'm in agreement on the container canceling the spells, I just haven't had time to address it.

I am pretty sure that using pots would "cancel" your cursor.

Here is my other post on this topic...
Faust wrote:The majority of this "spell fizzling" chit chat back and forth is mainly caused by double clicking items with a spell target up that in return ruins the stored spell. I know this was fixed awhile back for one key reason involving prepped spells and using potions that complained non-stop about the problem. However, this isn't accurate at all and should be fixed. It wasn't until the removal of pre-casting that a stored spell like this was ruined. However, the only time a stored spell should be ruined is when any new target overlapse the spell target. For example, double click a purple potion bringing up a new target would erase the spell target, etc... The same would happen with bandages, wands, and so forth. The correction to this inaccurate behavior would eliminate the misconception that spells are fizzling when they shouldn't and make the shard more accurate in the same time too.
