Archer mages

Just wondering if at all possible for archer mages to be viable again, weren't archer mages competitive during t2a?

Pre-T2A archer mages were the competitive combat mage due to the fact that it was essentially impossible to hit an archer mage while an archer mage had little to no difficulty hitting you. The changes to combat in early T2A shifted them from the best to the worst PvP class because they could no longer effectively 'kite' other players while being invulnerable to that deficiency.

I've never seen rose's archer, and I suspect it's not viable. Especially in rose's hands.

Most viable archer templates are dexers at their heart. Without insta-hit you won't win duels with an archer tank.

Has archery, has mage, has meditation, more than 25 int, sounds like an archer mage to me.

Matron's char is gimped under current uosa pvp rules, b/c I suspect right now the additional dex gives her no benefit with a heavy bow

Truth, I should drop dex to 25, but I know thats NEA

I want to build one of these archer mages, should I use the standard tank mage template but sub swordsmanship for archery?

Also, how good would this character be at PvM? I always liked playing ranged characters in games and I mostly PvM (not for farming just running around the world killing stuff) but at the same time, if I meet a red in the field I want to be able to give it a go instead of running away all the time.
