Ultima Online v1.25: The Original CD

Post by Bicchus Dicchus »

So last night I whipped out my original UO CD from '97 and copied all the client stuff onto my hard drive.

It's 483mb unpacked. Can anyone recommend some server space? I'll upload it for posterity if the masses desire it.

Is that the client that has the large ship in Skara and children?

Yes, it's the one with the children.

It also has:

-Padded Armour
-Black Latex Bondage Gear, including Gimp Mask (I shit you not)
-The aborted dungeon Doom map data that eventually became Fire and Ice Dungeon

You can see why it's always been important to me to keep hold of this stuff. Hell, digging it up I found both my cloth map (with pewter pin) and T2A map. They're on the wall now behind my workout stuff, and beside my desk.

Wow I remember hearing about the children thing years ago and I completely forgot about it.

So the original vision for the game included kids getting murdered and such?

I wasn't sure if the death animations were there for kids, so I ripped one of them and looked, and sure enough, yep.

There are death graphics for the younglings. But they were never present/spawned in the final OSI servers. Just the graphics.

Is there a way to actually use the client?

The bondage stuff should actually still be in the original t2a art files, from what I remember it looks terrible and doesn't fit the paperdoll very well
