Blade Spirit

Post by randale »

Isn't it supposed to go after whatever has the highest dexterity, I remember casting it on a T2A similar shard and it would almost always attack whatever I cast it near.

They claim Tactics, not dex. But those tend to be pretty well correlated with each other.

BUT you need to place it right next to the mob, like in the tile adjacent, otherwise be prepared to run.

And I always thought BS went after STR and EV's after INT.

I had the same impression Pirul. I'll be the first to admit that BSes and EVs seem a bit off on this shard. But once you get the hang of it, it isn't bad. Just remember to place it to one of the tiles touching the one the monster is currently on. And it helps to not move when they're up... they tend to aggro players that move.

I usually run and hide but this requires to run out of sight of the blade spirit, so I don't know what it's doing/or who it's hitting, so I think I'll use invis from now on, that has a time limit though doesn't it?

I expected the answer to be yes, but oh well. Guess you'll just get the message that it isn't provokeable?

I also agree it seems off on this shard. In the old days, people always BS'ed the orcs, we rarely saw EV's. Of course, it could have just been that people were not GM mages.

I played on a shard similiar (for the most part) to this one, it seemed to always go after whatever the closest thing to it when it appeared. But, I suspect it will be easy to use once I GM provoke, and I can place it right next to two fighting monsters.
