Hello
Gerald Ford here. This is my first char in like ten years. Thanks for the responses to my previous post. For Blacksmithing as I started it below 50 in order for the grand plan ( poisoning is 50 ). I want to know what to make at skill level 38? My mining is getting strong I am starting to pull dull copper and shadow ore. I usually mine for a couple hours a day so I am stacking up the ingots.
Ok
1 What to make at 38.
I am selling stuff and just mining more. I am not smelting because I want to make money and dont mind the extra time.
2 Does armslore come in handy. I think it would be good for repairs etc and I also think Item id is good too.
3. What template do you suggest for a character that has mining blacksmith, arms lore can I somehow turn him into a t hunter without dropping blacksmith, mining, poisoning, and armslore, alchemy. Can I pick up lock picking and cartography and be good to go as long as I go t hunting with a thief with remove trap and have guild help?
Thanks
Stupid questions but my playing days before are all a haze of cant remembers.
Thanks
New guy here with new questions.
Re: New guy here with new questions.
The wiki has the guides for all of your crafting woes. Link is in the upper-left hand corner of the forums page, says UOSA wiki. Tells you most of what you need to know about skills and stats, along with some information about housing and ships.
Re: New guy here with new questions.
Macroing a t-hunter is VERY easy and cheap (sans the GM LPing part), so I would not recommend mixing your crafter and your t-hunter. Plus your t-hunter can also make for a very decent PvM option to go out and make some $$.
For tips on templates, this is my t-hunter: http://my.uosecondage.com/Status/Player/124766 (need to finish meditation)
And this is my crafter: http://my.uosecondage.com/Status/Player/62702 (need to finish magery)
I strongly recommend reading this wiki entry to fully understand t-hunting. (Pro-tip in case you miss it: go with 0 mining on your t-hunter)

Re: New guy here with new questions.
1. Please, stop, put blacksmithy on a new character. Start it at 50, I promise you you'll thank me. The difference in ingots is in the tens of thousands depending on whether or not you start it at 50. It's not bad to have an extra miner on hand, it's good to have multiple miners on different accounts, so keep the character still.
2. Arms lore is okay, a lot of people have characters dedicated to arms lore, item id, taste id, etc. Not really important to have it on your smithy character.
3. If you wanted to do a blacksmithy thunter, I duno. That's kind of up to you. You gotta have some way to neutralize the monsters or fight them and heavy crafter builds make it difficult squeezing that in. Like Pirul said, probably better off making a dedicated t-hunter, but it's what you want out of the game, so you decide. I like t-hunters with musicianship and provoke or peacemaking, or both. Might be easier to squeeze those into a crafter build than fighting skills.
Remove trap is unimportant. Just use telekinesis or take the damage. Detect hidden at 60 points will allow you to do level 5 t-maps without GM lockpick (the last 5 points on lockpicking takes approximately 30 years)

Re: New guy here with new questions.
Wish I read this before now. After mining like a mad man and smithing I have 65 smithy. Yes it was boring as hell. I like armslore just to make it easier to repair. I have started a second character for T hunter. I wasnt thinking of hunting by myself but use the guild I am in for support against spawns.
Thanks for the link btw. I will add that since I sell cars mining seems relaxing. I have heard miniing on a boat is awesome. However we cant macro that now as I did ten years ago.. So is a boat still worth it because it seems dificult getting the ore smelted. Whereas I can just run to caves and hide if people come by. Get like 600 or so ingots recall back. Start again. I have been getting close to 1k ingots an hour just learning the spawns.
i used to be into pvp but I will save that for later after I get some killer magic stuff and my smith is gm. Make it easier to re equip my future dexer.
Thanks again for all the help, thanks very much and sorry to ramble.
