The United Blacksmiths of Britannia are proud to announce our first guild-sponsored event.
Save-the-date, Wednesday, December 28th 9:00pm EST
eventower.JPG
Gates will be provided from West Brit Bank.

General merriment and festivities will be had, with ample supply of booze, food, and sheep.

We will be holding a series of games to test the players skills and wits. The rewards will be grand. Over 125k has been pledged already, and the pot will only grow.

Events will include:
1. Ore race:
A race to the top of the tower, against your fellow "miners", through a deviously designed race course, dragging and dropping a big pile of ore. But watch out for surprises along the way, the life of a miner is dangerous after all.

Rules:
No casting of any spells at all.
No touching the other participants' ore piles.
No touching of race course items, etc, only move your pile.
Breaking of rules will result in a disqualification from the event.

2. Smith off:
Be the first smith to create a full suit of exceptional plate armor.

Ingots, tools, and a safe place to smith the armor will be provided.

3. PvP (pig vs pig)
2v2 1337 pig vs pig fighting. Single elimination tournament style, hardcore animal on animal fighting action. Pigs will be provided, in an attempt to offer a level playing field. Come with a partner, or one can be matched for you.

Bets will be held, as well as prizes for the winners.

More details will be announced as event draws closer.

edit 1 (12/19): More details on events, rules added.

If I'm around, you can count Zorn in.
Will you have a stablemaster present, or provide the pigs, to prevent pre-trained pigs from rigging the event? :)

Well, it seems that we will have to provide the bacon for this event, otherwise someone may enter a genetically-modified hormone-enhanced super-boar disguised as a pig.

There has already been an instance of "pig-hacking" discovered during the discovery phase of Event Planning, forcing us to institute an expensive and comprehensive screening process designed to detect the use of these PED's. <Pig Enhancement Drugs> Also discovered is the fact that Abbot cheats, and is a sad, sad, pig-modifying swine swindler, so we have put him in charge of the betting action for the event..

You sir are no better than the dung that clings to the bottom of all my fine, non-genetically modified, pure bred pigs. However, perhaps I will begin feeding them a new diet made entirely of your face, after Snowball II and Napoleon II get revenge for their fathers and DESTROY YOU.

So yeah, we'll bring in some fresh pigs for the event and provide them as needed. Not sure who will be doing the brackets, but I will indeed be managing the side-bets if anyone is interested. I only ask that all bets are paid up front and are limited to 1k. I don't want anyone to bet the farm and feel sore about it. Plus someone will probably cheat COUGHSheer LuckCOUGH and ruin everything.

Added to the Festival Schedule: a Food Stand <Cattie>, manned by a GM Chef <Chainsoar>.

Also, increased security measures for PvP have been added due to a recently discovered Robo-swine farm on Magincia Beach.. Apparently, technology stolen from Moonglow was being used to build Advanced Piginators.

Excerpt from Security Forces log:
The 600 series had rubber skin. We spotted them easy, but these are new. They look Piggy... squeals, curly tails, everything. Very hard to spot. We had to wait till they moved to the trough before we could zero them.

However, rest assured the fairness of the competition is utmost in our minds, and your betting coins will find even competition. It has recently been discovered that even the P2000's lack the natural fear of frying pans that all swine have, making it much easier to weed them out.

These hardcore pig fights - will skills or spells be allowed during these fights? beneficial? reactive armor? bless? Veterinary?
and to confirm, my pig that has been slaying drakes isnt allowed to enter ? :(

Edit --- Will there be someone using anatomy on the pigs to ensure no one gets a super pig by accident?

We have added a kitchen below the Arena to help detect illegal pigs. All pigs have been pre-screened, and are under guard till Wednesday. Also draws on competitors are going to be done at Random.

Agreed with Fox. As the other top chef, I can tell you. Chainsoar's cooking is lackluster at best, and has been known to cause several rare types of food poisoning.

Well, he is British. We'll be lucky to survive, I'm sure.
