i never ever saw a magic heater shield on osi during t2a
did they exist? or magic executioners axes
dont remember either of thsoe ever being magic

I can't be certain on heater shields, but I am certain on a few other items.

Black staves and Gnarled staves definitely never obtained magic properties. The gnarled staves only received magic status via wand type. I also believe crooks may fall into the same category as black staves, but I am not a hundred percent certain on those unlike the other two.

I'm pretty sure heater shields received magic status, but I can't say one way or the other. I recall seeing suits of full plate including the metal heater shields being invul and sold for a high price.

I also know magic platemail gloves were very rare in pre-t2a. I'm not sure if this persisted through out t2a or not.

I recall the heater shield having magic, but it wasn't a common sight, just hard to come by. I think people kept them.

Magic heater shields were EXTREMELY rare. I sold a "Durable of Defense" heater shield on Lake Superior for over 800k when a perfect katana (indes/supreme/vanq) would sell for 250k.

I have a SS of me with one, it was 1 of 5 known on Lake Superior at the time.

I also remember seeing them for ridiculous prices on vendors but I never actually saw one drop as monster loot or in a chest, myself.

I'm very sure that there was a point in time around T2A where magic heater shields, plate gloves, and exec's axes simply did not spawn.

I don't think that magic crooks ever spawned anytime before AoS.

Pre-T2A, magic platemail gloves never dropped. However, I do remember them dropping somewhere after T2A was released, but before UO:R came in.

As for crooks, I do remember magic crooks, though it may have been UO:R, my memory is a bit foggy and I don't have any direct memories or screenshots to back it up

I got a pair of magic platemail gloves during pre-t2a. I sold them for quite a bit. It was possible for them to drop, but actually getting them was damn near impossible. I only seen them drop one time out of the entire era.

This is something that needs to be looked at on a bigger scale I think. Currently everything is either dropping or not, and all items have an equal chance. I think be fore just removing any more known items we should see if we can find a drop change table for items, which may very well exist and make the change as a whole.
This is a good thread, but we're not likely going to pre-announce any changes to items that may or may not disappear.
