Merry xmas.

I didn't think someone could break into my house and loot all of my locked down iron ore ingots I've been trying to save up whenever I have time to mine around working 12 hour days.

How did this happen?? They were locked down and my house door was locked!

I lost everything!

um... i dont think they can. would have to be co-owner.

They can always sneak in when door in open. But can't pick it up.

If it makes you feel any better, I just logged in to discover my entire house is gone, and another in its place. I've only been logging in about once a week to refresh it (by clicking the door, and then checking the sign for "like new"), but it didn't count for whatever reason, so I really really lost everything.

An empty house is better than no house at all! ^_^

It doesn't make me feel better to hear that happened to you. That would be morbid. I understand your logic however, as most folks would probably appreciate receiving that unfortunate bit of news. I for one am sorry to hear that happened to you. It's a lot of time you put in when you could be, often should be, doing something else.

Aside, I just don't get how my locked down items were taken from a locked down chest.

Can thieves steal from secured chests then too?

No you cant do anything with secure chests unless you are friended or co-owner. Is it your own house or do you share it with someone else?

I am co-owner of the home. I locked down a large wooden crate and that is also where I held 5.5k iron ingots of mine. My main is a smith/miner, lumberjack/carpenter.
I figured being that the crate was locked down, that no one could steal from it if they got into the house.
So... I'm assuming locked down containers can be stolen from. Am I accurate?
And are "secured" containers immune to thieves?

so secure means that you cant get into it.

Locked down means you cant steal the CRATE.

That's why people have the Locked down/release trick with

Things in 'locked down' chests can be viewed and taken by ANYONE. Only 'Secure' chests are viewable and lootable by house owners, co-owners and house friends.
